Is the Lion really the Devil????
Posted : 16 Oct, 2010 05:05 PM

I am writing a report at school on animal abuse. I checked out big cats being abused.

In Florida A pastor of a church brought a caged lion into his service and said this is the devil!!!!!:goofball:

really?????:prayingm:

I thought that Jesus was the lion of Judah.hmmmmm

The lion and the lamb will eat grass together in the 1,000 year reign of Christ. The lion as far as I can tell always represents gods strength.

I got this information from a abuse animal site that discusses big cat rescues.Dennis:prayingf:

Dennis, may the Lord help you with your paper.

If the pastor said the loin was the devil, he has it wrong, or maybe youmisunderstood him. Maybe he was tryignt o compare the scritpure which say the devil WALK AROUND AS )meaning thiniing he is...) a roaring lojng, seeking whom he may destroy.

Scriptures doesn't say the devil IS a lion, it says the devil walk around AS IF he is a roaring lion, which mean he makes much noise to put fear into our hearts, but the devil ain't really got no bite... or teeth:ROFL::excited::excited::devil:arrrrrr... LOL

Oh, it was a 500 pound lion that rocked its tiny cage the whole time.

he said next week he is bringing pythons in.

Dennis,

According to what I heard, when the guy says that the lion is the devil, he really means to use the term metaphorically. The Bible uses the lion metaphor for both Jesus and the devil. In fact, if I remember rightly, thee are even references to evil people as lions in the Psalms. The thing to remember with metaphors is that one image (say a lion in this case) may be used for many different things. The wise question to ask, and the preacher in the video did a great job of it, is in what way is the devil like a lion. This works with any metaphor.

As far as the abuse of cats goes, I am afraid that caging that lion and bringing him on stage was a bit over the top. a video from Animal Planet or National Geographic would have done the trick.

Perfect love casts out all fear.

Satan as a roaring lion, is so load it can be heard for several miles on the African plain. And it instills a "fight or flight" type fear in those animals that hear it. This fear can mentally terrorize the prey. We are not to fear satan. Perfect love casts out all fear and we cast out satan with God's power.

The Lion of the Tribe of Judah is symbolic of a great king, And real lions are beautiful creatures. Still the roaring will attract attention.

Well, the bible just says that Satan tries to prowl around LIKE a lion, right? He does try to take the place of Christ quite a bit in other areas, maybe this would just be another example? He is the progenitor of the spirit of anti-christ after all.

Well I also meant to say is it wise to bring a lion into your church service and risk it getting out.Only a lock to keep it in the cage, why risk it???????

The problem here is he brought an animal into his service that the law says has to be exotic. the owner has to have a very special permit.

We are told to be wise and responsible.See my point.
