Is this in response to my quote of 1 Tim 4 that false teachers say divorced people should not be allowed to remarry. I do not label false teachers or a " servant of the devil" if they merely disagree with my views. Post Reply

I do not always understand what this brother writes but if I disagree I have a choice to pray about it.The person in question may need pray.But, is he a heretic????? I do not know. The scripture I'm looking at concerning false teachers is 1 Timothy 4:1-5 and i'm sure there are others that would apply to false "latter days" teachers. "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, 3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; 5 for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer." Apart from marriage, food is something to be desired (by the flesh) also and here it is said to be sactified by prayer. Not every one prays before eating and I do not want to be legalistic about that. But the other part, that says the food is sanctified by the word of God too. If we take the whole bible and use the idea that scripture interperts scripture, how is it that the Word sactifies our food? My personal opinion is the Old Testament dietary laws concerning clean and unclean meats. Of course some eat no meat anyway and would not care that much. But those vegitarian Christians... (Daniel 1:12) ""Test your servants for ten days; let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink." are usualy healthier not eating meat, whether clean or unclean. Is this then a false teacher, That says abstain from meat or marriage or whatever God intended for us to recieve with thankgivng? I have an idea what a false teacher really is in these last days. But at the same time I know some would call me a false teacher simply saying we live in the last days. �Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life" John 6:27a.
