Rev 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Rev 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

Just using these two verses and the Scriptures to interpret these verses.

Who could these two witnesses be.

I do not think they are Enoch and Elijah.

Here is what I found:

Zec 4:1 And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,

Zec 4:2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:

Zec 4:3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.

Zec 4:4 So I answered and spoke to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?

Zec 4:5 Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

Zec 4:6 Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Zec 4:7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

Zec 4:8 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Zec 4:9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.

Zec 4:10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

Zec 4:11 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?

Zec 4:12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?

Zec 4:13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

Zec 4:14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth. (KJV)

The two witnesses will be "clothed in sackcloth"

Therefore, chances are they won't be from America.

Thunder of God way to go my brother in pointing out this dual prophecies! Our beliefs reflect the word! I never read this scripture! Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity. [Psalms 133:1]

As for my brother trucker or Shalom and Chesed or St George:, what faith do you practice my brother Christianity, Jewish or Catholic? With all your names I am not sure!

Stay in the word for truth! Everyone has their opinions but seek the truth in Gods word not mans word! You either believe the whole bible or dont believe it at all. I do know the truth in Gods Holy Bible!

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

Zec 4:11 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof? And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves? And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord. Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth. (KJV)

Rev 11:3

3And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 4These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

James 5:17 (King James Version)

17Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

2 Kings 1:10 (King James Version)

10And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

Comparing these 2 passages there are dual prophecies! Dual prophecies in my opinion is God means what he says and says what he means!

Rev 11:4 confirms

Revelation 11:1-14 (King James Version)

Revelation 11 (Pay attentions to the last 2 woes) The rapture of the 2 witness and the rapture of the church shortly after!!! The rapture of the 2 witness will be on TV in Rev 11:9 so get ready for that day!

1And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.

2But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

3And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

4These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

5And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

6These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

7And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

8And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

9And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

10And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

11And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

12And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

13And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

14The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.

Elijah the Forerunner of Jesus' Second Coming

The Elijah of Jesus' second coming is found in Rev. 11:1-14. In this section of the Book of Revelation, John describes the two witnesses of God who prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, which is fortytwo months or three and a half years at which time it does not rain (the length of the drought in Elijah's day. See I Kings 17:1; James 5:17). They are clothed in sackcloth, the clothes of repentance (Elijah called the people of his day to repentance). The witnesses proclaim God's Word (like Elijah did). The text says if anyone tries to harm them, fire flows from their mouth and devours their enemies (Elijah commanded fire to consume his enemies in II Kings. 1:9-16). They also have the power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every plague (like Moses Ex. 3-12). The two witnesses preach repentance and prepare the people of Israel for the Lord (as prophesied in Isa. 40:3-5; Mal. 3:1; 4:5-6). Most scholars believe that one of the two witnesses is Elijah, the other being Moses or Enoch. Some believe Enoch is a good candidate since he never died (like Elijah) while others believe one of the witnesses is Moses since he represents the law, was a great prophet, and the text mentions plagues being performed like those performed in the Book of Exodus by Moses.

So now we have our question answered. John the Baptist fulfilled the same ministry and purpose as the promised coming of Elijah and that is why, if you care to accept it, he himself is Elijah. Yet, there is another Elijah coming who will proclaim God's Word, do the same miracles as Elijah, lead Israel in a great spiritual revival in preparation for the second coming of Jesus Christ and the great and terrible Day of the Lord. This is the Elijah to come.

@ncwestie

Hey Westie:

I have been a New Covenant Biblical believer in Yesua for awhile.

Shalom and Chesed are Hebrew greetings which mean;

Peace and Love or Mercy..

Paul uses the Greek greetings of:

Grace and Peace

St.George:

This is my standing before YHWH in Yeshua,I am a Saint/Holy one of Almighty God.

Most Christians still calls themselves 'Sinners saved by grace'

One tells of my condition,the other tells of my position.

How about you,are you a sinner saved by grace;

Or an adopted son/saint of El-Shaddai.

Shalom,

St.George

@ Thunder:

Hey Brother,who are the two candlesticks;

Seeng that Scripture interprets Scripture:

How about this Scripture:

Pay attention to verses 12-14

Rev 1:9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

Rev 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Rev 1:12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;

Rev 1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

Rev 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

What do you think?

Could the Two olive trees bee Israel?

Rev 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

Remember there are two olive trees,not two olive branches.

A branch in Scripture represents a single person.

John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

John 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and

Just something to be thinking about..

If the two witnesses are in sackcloth which represents repentance then could these two trees be the Jewish nation and the Christian gentile church? Both the Jews and the Christian Gentiles have been witnesses of God. At the same time is it possible that the two prophets killed in the streets are representatives of Christianity and Judaism? What if this is an assassination of two spiritual leaders that are known world wide and have managed to fend of many attacks before but one day are allowed to be killed?
