i wonder?

i had two good friends. they were Buddist. One died violently/suddenly in a mugging. One had a very bad heart and five years ago, had a fatal attack.

I loved my friends, and they were good men. They had a reverance and respect for Jesus Christ, however, they were both devout Buddists.

I miss my friends, Is there any hope of them going to Heaven?

Hello:

All that i have is the Word of GOD on this matter.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

John 14:4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

John 14:5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Shalom and Chesed:

St.George

John 3:3 (King James Version)

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

Reverence and respect will not get you into heaven, and surly not worshiping false gods. The bible warns people of this.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Romans 10:9-10

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

First and foremost, I am so sorry for your loss. =[ Losing loved ones is terrible. And I am sorry they passed.

I would look at this differently. As Buddhists, they believed in reincarnation or transmigration.

That when they die, they return to earth. And are fulfilling the cycle of their life. Or those who have attained enlightenment have gone to Nirvana.

So, while you won't see them in Heaven, take comfort in that they have continued their path as Buddhists.

Life is a journey.

Death is a return to earth.

The universe is like an inn.

The passing years are like dust.

Regard this phantom world

As a star at dawn, a bubble in a stream,

A flash of lightning in a summer cloud,

A flickering lamp - a phantom - and a dream.

I wouldn't be sad for their not going to Heaven. I would be happy that their journey has continued. Or has finished in Nirvana.

Not sure if that helps your or not. But its something I've always remembered. And, again, I am so sorry for your loss.

Here is the bottom line;

Exactly what happens to any given individual on the other side of deaths door remains a mystery. Scripture is not 100% clear on the subject.

However scripture is clear that God is just, compassionate, not wanting any to perish.

With that said; Yes there is a reason for hope.

Although it will still be the choice of your friends (in this life or the next? ) which will determine their outcome.

To lose a unbelieving friend when I know Jesus has always weighed upon my heart; always asking myself ; could of I done more? Did I pray enough?

Yes it is a sobering thought, hopefully enough to spur us into action so we never have to ask ourselves those questions again.

They have to believe that Jesus was the son of God. If they believed that, and were following whatever knowledge of God they had to the best they could...then yeah, you may see them in heaven. I'm sure we'll be surprised at some of the people that make it.

to those of you who answered a very, very, difficult question with caring and compassion, Thank You! This is a question every Christian should have thought about. (and if all of your close friends are Christians, maybe you should exspand your world a little)
