"And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful." (Mark 4:18-19)
There is currently a widespread teaching among evangelicals that material prosperity is a right which accrues to the Christian who will do certain things. This "prosperity gospel," however, is merely a false front for the old-fashioned sin of "covetousness, which is idolatry" (Colossians 3:5).
The Lord Jesus, in His parable of the sower, warned that this "deceitfulness of riches" along with "the cares of this world" and then "the lusts of other things" could soon choke out whatever place the Word of God might once have had in the believer's life. In no way does the Lord ever promise material wealth to a Christian, but the desire for money and its power has surely crushed the spiritual lives and testimonies of multitudes. "They that will [i.e., desire to] be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts. . . . For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows" (1 Timothy 6:9-10). If, by His grace, the Lord does enable a Christian to acquire wealth, it should be regarded as a divine stewardship and opportunity for ministry.
The apostle Paul, who died penniless in this world but with great treasures laid up in heaven, expressed it thus: "Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come" (1 Timothy 6:17-19).
So true! One of my favourite Bible verses that just keeps me humble in this are and mindful of the purpose of my money is: "Two things I ask of you, O LORD; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the LORD?' Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God," (Proverbs 30:7-9, NIV).
there is a quote that my pastor gave this morning by frederic d. huntington, "it is not scientific doubt, not atheism, not pantheism, or agnosticism, that in our day and in this land is likely to quench the light of the gospel. it is a proud, sensuous, selfish, luxurious, church-going-hollow-hearted prosperity." he said that sometime in the late 1800`s.
Mr Row, not all will fall for the unbelief contained inthis post, theses scriptures have nothing to do with the will of God, and the blessing of his children.
When you take his word and try to discredit or corrupt the word of God you can not be walking in the light of the word.
This is a perfect example of reasoning at work.
I always remember one night the lord talking to me in the worship service as he said I guess they believe my wealth is for the devil's crowd!!
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
1Jo 1:2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
1Jo 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
1Jo 1:4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
1Jo 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1Jo 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1Jo 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1Jo 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jo 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Prosperity is thru out theword of God and it is not just financial it is every area of life.

You are clueless PJ! You can spread your demon theology else where.
When you want to sit and discuss the word have at it, I am ready to see what you have to say, but until you grow up and become a man, and talk like a man, I'll ask you, like a man, to stop responding to my post and I will stop responding to yours.
No Dennis, as long as you feel you can discredit the word of God, I have the right to honor it.
It is never as a man after God's heart to boldyly proclaim the word of God as not true.
No man Can ever know God or truth by reasoning, and engaging the intellect, the word is spirit, it comes from the father of Spirit's, and it must be spiritually discerned.
