The best example I have heard is that the Secret Service doesn't learn what counterfiets are by studying counterfeits but they learn everything there is to know about the real thing and then the counterfeits are obvious to them. Godshandiwork is right on!! Know God. Focus on learning His nature and character. Jesus said that His sheep hear His voice and they follow Him. Sheep were often put in a large fold and the flocks were mingled together for the night. When the shepherd came to take his sheep out to pasture he would call them and only his sheep would follow him out to the pasture. David said in PS 23, "thy rod and thy staff they comfort me" This is because the sheep knew the shepherds pace by the striking of His staff on the ground as he walked. The rod was used to keep them from running into the fold without being first checked for wounds. The shepherd would put olive oil on their wounds before they were allowed to enter the fold. We have to learn to listen to the staff and the voice of our Shepherd and we have to be patient with the rod when we need the oil of the Holy Spirit to work in us. Thunder Post Reply

I would just add that we have to be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit and willing to be flexible. We may have our minds set on doing one thing and God sends someone to us to point us in a different direction. If we are not willing to really listen to the people God puts in our path, we may miss His blessing. Post Reply

BUT it's not coming from your own judgment or critical thinking. if you overthink something, it's YOU and not the Spirit it's the Spirits leading and not something you can come up with on your own. oh boy, doesnt make much sense lol Post Reply

I totally agree here of learning God�s nature�its all about LOVE� But I do not believe this is Discerning GODS lead�speaking for my self only...using some examples�Being woken up to pray and not knowing for who...but just doing it without question. Or as being drawn to go somewhere and to speak to a complete stranger...to have someone pop into your mind and you just know to call them�compelled for lack of a better word...I don�t consider these as Discernment at all. Its just doing what is in your Heart to do when GOD puts it there to be done� I do believe that in all of life�s situations we are equip to Discern that which is of GOD and that which is of Satan�and I�m not referring to Discernment of Spirit which is a Gift given by GOD/Jesus*/Holy Spirit and entirely different�Anywho�that�s my two bits�xo Post Reply

Do you leave your minds outside the buildings where you meet together.. If so,than how is one transformed by the renewing without their mind.. How does one meditate on the Word without the use of ones mind.. The heart is deceitful according to Jeremiah 17:9,So why do you trust your heart,alone... Prayer is Talking to GOD... Meditation is Listening to GOD... Meditation on the WORD is holding focus on a Passage, Verse, Parable...Thought of... not Thinking about it... The Relvelation of that Meditation...well...it comes into the Heart...not the Mind...xo Post Reply
