Meanings-Help-succour-One who helps. Lexicon says Aid-female helper And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. -- Genesis 2: 18 (KJV) Is it important, I think so...besides Jesus was the greatest servant that ever lived-we should all want to Help or Aid others, in any relationship Post Reply

It's fairly simple, anything that you can do to be of help. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NASB) 9 Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. 10 For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. One rule of Biblical interpretation is to see how the word is used elswhere in the Bible. The word Ezer is used 21 times in the Old Testament. Two are in reference to the wife. The rest basically refer to God's help, or salvation from the enemy or in times of desperate need. Looking at it from that point of view, a helpmeet is someone who is there when you need them the most. Post Reply

Posted : 19 Sep, 2010 06:42 PM I like the way Sandiaboy puts it: It only took God 36 hrs. to realize that "it is not good" to leave Adam alone. Seriously, yes, it is very important that your mate want to be a helper in every aspect of your life. Marriage is not a 50/50 agreement. It is 150/150. Post Reply
