Hebrews 10:24-25

Hello everyone:

I believe this verse of Scripture has been misunderstood for some time.

Most Christians are told "DO NOT FORSAKE THE ASSEMBLING OF YOURSELVES"

Yet,most everytime the body assembles they violate this Scripture.

Please read this carefully, praying and meditating upon that which has been written for the admonishment, and encouragement of the body of Believers.

Then write down the ways which we forsake another as we assemble.

Asking the Lord to grant us repentance.

Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

I'm not exactly sure of what you're getting at, so I'll just toss this out there:

There is a big difference b/w sitting in a room full of other warm bodies listening to a sermon and having true fellowship with like-minded believers.

Pixy, you are correct, yet this goes even deeper.

Most believers are encouraged to meet with other believers,

yet when they meet,do they break up into their little groups and forget about the rest of the people.

How about those that are not like us,maybe they are not as clean, maybe have a smell about them.

They might not be as well off, cannot afford good clothes.

Maybe they rub us the wrong way with their different understanding of the Word.

Do we forget about these people..

How about meeting the needs of the people, are these needs being made known publicly, that the Lord Yehsua would meet those needs through His people..

Do we not forsake the assembly by having a band, instead of Everyone having a Psalm,Hymn,or Spiritual song.

How about the man that says "Lets pray" and he is the only one that prays.

The man that does most of if not all of the teaching, yet there are men called and gifted of the Lord to teach sitting by idle, waiting, wondering when they will have the chance to teach..

Unknowingly when we meet, there might be a forsaking of the body of believers, even though we meet under one roof.

I understrand about home groups, yet most of these just reflect what happens when we meet on the weekends..

I believe the body is to be an organism, not an organization.

When a fellowship of believers accepts the status of being Non-profit,i believe they have become an organization..

Organizations usually forsake people.

Just my observations as being a Believer for some time.

George you might need to change where you fellowship, I have seen quite the difference, but it does seem as though have a strong desire to sow discord, elevating themselves to have the truth, it might be better to not put family business out in the world.

@PJ:

Pj, i have lived in New Jersey the last 11 years:

I have been through 4 fellowships, and at the latest for the last 10 months.

These places are all the same, controlled by a few, with the rest being fans not actice participants when the meet together..

The biggest problem is those calling themselves leaders, when we are all to be followers of Yeshua.

I would ask for prayer,in being used of Yeshua to bring the truth of the Word to the people.

Mat 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

@PJ:

PJ,I love youthank you for almost trying to encourage me.

People do not a Bible believing Pastor, they need Yeshua/Jesus.

Remember,we are not to be bringing people to "church"

we are to be bringing them to Yeshua/Jesus

Joh 1:38 Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

Joh 1:39 He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

Joh 1:40 One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

Joh 1:41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

Joh 1:42 And he brought him to Jesus.
