I have a question....

...and I have no idea where to put it. I looked at a profile and it listed "Christian-Independent" as the religion. I can't write to that person because I'm too old. The question, is "Christian-Independent" a specific church?

Thanks for your time.

:zzzz: - that's what I need to do

Hi Sam:waving:

Who knows what Christian-Independant means excpet the person who posted it.

Maybe it means he/she is a free will thinker independant from the gospel of the Bible, God and Jesus, and everything it stands for pretaining to as being a Christian.

You know, as Paul said, people will becomes thier own authority in the last days turning away from the Christian faith to their own. Maybe its a new Christian church, and because they call it independant, they think and feel they are not a denomination. But, Either way you look at it, its still a denomination (but don't tell anyone, that's our little secret between you and me)

From Wikipedia: The Independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ are a part of the Restoration Movement and share historical roots with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the a cappella Churches of Christ.

These churches are best defined as those in the Restoration Movement who have chosen not to be identified with the denomination known as the "Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)." The obvious difference from the Churches of Christ is the use of instrumental music in worship. The instrumental Christian Churches and the a cappella Churches of Christ are otherwise fundamentally identical. There are no denominational ties, and therefore, no official statistical data, but the 2006 Directory of the Ministry[1] documents some 5,500 congregations. Many estimate the number to be over 6,000.
