I think both...sin is the problem that gets in the way of us living our lives the way we need to and at the same time the lifestyle we choose can lead us toward the path of sin. Good question!

Sin is the symptom of the problem.

The problem is "Independence from God"

Twosparrows, Good answer and right on the mark. Also don't you think an Independence from God's word and we as individuals choosing the faith of our choice instead of taking God at his word?

The point of the post is to remind ourselves sin is not the problem, but a symptom of the problem that has already been taken care by the lord Jesus Christ and the message the body of Christ has to the world is not one of you are a mess and full of sin but, your sins are not imputed against you the father has reconciled you unto himself by his sons sacrifice, so whosoever will is welcome to come unto the father thru the lord Jesus Christ

PJ,

You make some good points. If you could just get over your hatred of Calvin, you could really get it. But agendas are ugly and you have run yours into the ground.

Love and grace,

Leon

No agendas, Christians are not to like a lie no more than the lord does.

Is sin the problem? or Is sin the symptom of the problem?

what are you saying?

sin is a symptom... (a manifestation of having) sin, or is

sin the problem... (a hinderance) to you.

either way.. (my) experience has been to develope the spiritual man by (mediatating on the Word) until the Word is bigger (more real to me) than the symptoms or the problems (the flesh man).

this has been a very timely (not fast), but effective method for me.
