In order to express His nature of holiness, truth, and justice, God MUT punish us for our sins. Sin personally offends God, and no one should be surprised or think that they will not be punished by God for their sins. Nor should anyone think or be surprised that SIN makes God very angry.
To deny that God get angry is to reject the necessity of Christ's death on the cross, and His death as being in vian to save us from our sins.
Based on Romans Chapter 1,
(1) What are some of the way God expresses His anger(wrath) toward sin?
"To deny that God get angry is to reject the necessity of Christ's death on the cross, and His death as being in vian to save us from our sins."
I SO agree w/ that... I am SO frustrated w/ people who don't understand that relationship b/w sin and Christ's work on the cross!!
Some ways God expresses His wrath against sin?
x God gives people over to their sexually impure ways.
x God gives people over to their shameful lusts.
x God gives people over to their depraved minds.
Essentially, God lets those who reject Him play around in their messes w/out His interference. This is a foreshadowing of what Hell will be like. But Hell will be worse... because down here, the wicked are able to mingle w/ the righteous...
2nd Cor5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christs stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
Pixy you are on the move. You are so right many people don't know that God will just release you from his hands, if you keep sinning and turn you over to those things that you refuse to let go of.
This is why so many people are sick and die, their sins find them out, and God will allow themto do as they please especially, when they know what they are doing is wrong.
Love loves us all, but He does not tolerate, nor will He ever tolerate sin. People think that because Godis so loving He will put you with our mess, why should he Bless mess, when He has already told us He hates sin.
He gives us warnings upon warnings, through our firiends, family, and even those things we practice that are sinful, and some people still refuse to listen and continue in their sinful ways.
And as He says in Proverbs chapter 1, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded, because you disdained(rejected) my counsel. And would have none of my reproof. I will also laugh at your calamity, I will mock when your terror comes. When your terror comes like a storm, and your destruction comes like a whirlwind, and when distress and anguish comeupon you....
So, PJ, are the scriptures you posted intended to be used to say that God is so loving and kind and full of grace, that He will not punisih us for our sins? he is loving and kind, but He does play either, if this is the point of your scriotures.
Otherwise, maybe you can explain how they fit in with God's wrath. I hope this is not why you posted those scrioture to say that God desn't get angry and will not punish us. Becasue in reality, God has not opunished us according to our sins, because we wouldn't be able to endure the punishmenet our sins deserve.
Hebrews chapter 12, lets us know that God will get angry and He will punish us for sinning. And if we repent of our sins, we still must suffer the consequences of our sins, but they will not be as hard as if we do not repent. Repnetance will bring about God's forgivenness and He will hold back His anger, but He will also punish us accordingly so we will not forget, because He loves us. But you gone get your butt whooped by Him:excited::boxing:
Its not that you can't post the word of God on this forum. There are certain words that are not allowed. When ever you see the red mark it means there is a word somewhere in your comment that is not allowed, even if its found in the word.
I, personally, don't understand this either, especially if its not a curse word, and can be found in the Bible. Admin really does have need to change certain genral words...
I rememebr when I first came on this site, you couldn't use in your post the word breast, I contacted the admin, and now it has been changed, and is allowed.
Therefore, whenever you or anyone get that this warning, always read over your post that is shown in the warning, and find that word, and then change it to another word meaning the same thing,a nd then copy and pates your comments over using a different word.
Also, contact admin...
I checked out those references of scriptures you gave, but I still don't know what passages you were writing from with a word(s) you counldn't post.
I am so glad that Phillip John referenced this passage on Reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18--6:3). The text shows clearly the ANGER and Wrath of a HOLY God. He is angry with sinners who must be reconciled through the Sacrifice of the Son.
God does not just ignore His wrath, and carelessly forgive sin. No, He requires that the penalty be meted out. Jesus bore the penalty.
God's wrath and God's mercy are equally real and simultaneously perfections of the God of the Bible.
On cutting and pasting Scripture: Perhaps you could just say what the text is saying, and then provide the reference? We would expect that persons viewing this site have access to the Scriptures and can look up the passage themselves.
Let me look at the passages in question and see if I can figure out what the offensive words are. IT IS A COMPUTER PROGRAM that rejects certain words, no matter what their source. I am thankful for that. It keeps a certain modicum or propriety in our postings.
Also, when a post is rejected, the whole thing is shown in red, but look carefully, the offending words are a little bit darker.
Isaiah 53 might be rejected for the word "dumb" (put in as dum6). Or maybe "laid" (use 1aid), or "bare" (use 6are).
Then in Romans 6, the computer program might not like the word "passed" thinking it is the slang word for "behind" so you would need to use (pa55ed).
Then from Hebrews 12, there is no question that the word in KJV which refers to an illegitimate son will not be allowed (v. 8). You must write that as ba5tard5 to be accepted.
That one word alone will cause your whole post to be rejected. Let me suggest that you re-submit you post, but change that one word with an alternate spelling. My guess is that the post will be accepted.
In looking over the Luke passage, I see nothing that would alert the censor program.
