The word theology is simply "God" (theos) + "Word" (Logos).
The is a dry dead wearisome approach and there is a living approach:
There is a God. There is One who is God. There is One who speaks and who reveals. He is who He is. There is a definite objective reality that is God. He is somebody.
It is not like the many worlds of Sci-Fi: Star Wars world, Star Trek world, Star Gate world, Star Quest world. People treat God like that . . . Which one do you believe they ask, as if it is somehow up to you or me. Any of those star worlds is as good as the other, you can love or believe in which ever one you want and no one could fault you for it because they all are equally FANTASY.
But there is a God who is REALITY and that One is the God that you and I desire to know and connect with. It is that One with whom we desire to converse with and hang with.
The God who really is cannot be known by us UNLESS He reveals himself to us. An ANT can't know a human and we don't have the power to make ourselves known to an Ant.
BUT GOD, our God, the true Living God is capable of bringing himself to our level and enabling our feeble and finite minds to glimpse who He is.
He reveals himself through the grandeur and immensity of Creation in the world of astronomy. He reveals himself though infinitesimal delicacy and minute detail and intricacy of Creation in the world of the microscope.

He also reveals himself through the Scriptures and these are the supreme source of truth about the God who is. These are His own self-disclosure, His profile.
If I found myself strongly attracted to a person here on CDFF I will be viewing their profile continually and constantly contacting them in order to get to know them. I would contact them through every means at My disposal (phone, e-mail, the forums, instant message, special words on my permanent profile, through other people on CDFF). Also, I would google them and search facebook to come to know them as best I could.
If we are attracted to Jesus we will seek to know Him this way. That is the essence of theology, trying through every means possible to come to know the God who loves us, the One after whom our hearts pant (Ps. 42).
