Boy! this stuff Im about to share with you sure hits home! I first want to start off by saying I pray that no one takes offense to it. I pray that it can bless you as the Lord is using it to bless me and help me grow more and more in understanding.

You Know, lol thats another quote I like! LOL You Know I sure use it a lot. Anyways, many or most of us have had good intensions in mind when we chose the different paths in our lifes. The sad truth is that many of us found out that our good intentions lead us to a destination we did not desire. Ill use my own choice of a spouse as an example. My heart always wanted this soft, loving, encouraging spouse who desired to grow in the Lord as I do. What I mean by grow in the Lord as I do, is. The heart, not just go to church and it have no meaning what so ever from there. Well, I chose my spouses, yes spouses hoping I could show them and lead them into the same path as I desired. You guessed it! It was a tug a war the whole time. Two different people going into two different directions. In other words, my good intentions did not lead down the path I desired. Ill give you another one. Like I have put on some weight sinse I started driving a truck. Well that was not my intension, but when I go eat the buffet and eat two plates full, what can I espect? Thats like buying the chips I buy and hoping for some miracle that they will turn into health food, huh? LOL

The same holds true with the Christ. Are we putting totally the things of him into our lifes, or are we putting some of him in them and hoping for some miracle transformation? If you want a Godly spouse, do you marry one whos focus is material things, or etc? So we must ask ourselfes in everything in our lifes. Are we seeking a worldly destination or a Godly destination? Will worldly security, money, good looks, etc.. put you on the path for the Lord? I would say not! To be honest, this is were we check our own love for Christ or the world. This has sure opened my eyes to many things in my own life, and the choises I made. I pray that the Lord can use it to help you also with his trueth.

Gods Continued Blessings And Love,

David

Hmm...very good post. I've been going through this quite a bit lately. I'm having some problems in life...money, sin, relationships, serious depression...but I'm starting to realize, like I have with a lot of other things, that it's all my fault/attitude. I keep thinking..."I'm a nice unselfish guy, why isn't God making my life easier??", or "I gave my problems to God...why isn't He taking them away??", or "How can I honestly ask someone to tie their life to mine, when I know exactly how much I have to offer"(not much, at least in my view under the influence of the next thing), or "Here I am, trying so hard to do the right things...so depressed, such a failure, abusing or unsatisfied with what God has given me, so unhappy with myself...and then there are "those" people, not even trying. So horrible in the way they treat people, so arrogant with nothing to back it up...so...so...selfish, yet so happy".

But...I think I'm starting to realize somethings. This is my path. My problems are my "path"...the way I deal with them. Expecting everything to be clouds and ice cream is selfish in itself, and then to top it off I get depressed when things aren't easy enough(in my defense...this is some heavy krap). It's all about trusting in God, and doing what you know is right with joy...no matter the circumstances and no matter what you "expect". God knows best, and you're exactly where you're supposed to be. And guess what?? When you trust God? When you accept your "path"? All your problems go away. You don't have to worry about anything except following what you know is God's will. God has a plan, and maybe through all these things we think are so unfair/annoying/horrible...those are the same things He's building our character with, or saving another soul with. We just don't know. Man...it's not easy...but we just have to hold on...

:peace::peace:

Mark it is about thy word is truth, and in the word of God we find we have an enemy to all that is good we have to learn of his devices and ways because by faith we overcome him His name is Satan.

He is the father of oppression, he is the thief of our Joy, he is still the father of lies.

cowboy you sure are right. path = destination, if it is written "This Day has salvation come to this house" + "Proverbs 27:1 Boast not thyself of to morrow..." thus we can conclude that each step is possibly a final destination and the journey = the path. :winksmile:

David, you are so right! Good intentions don't make for good results. I have acted with the best of intentions and have ended up with disasterous results. When this happens in relationships, someone always gets badly hurt. I have taken these past 6 years since my divorce to step back from dating and serious relationships to examine my motives and my needs and to really pray and as God for guidance in my life. The answers He gave me have taken me WAY out of my comfort zone at times but I have grown closer to Him and He has never let me fall when I have stepped out in faith.
