The Struggle of Two Natures of Law From Within...

Paul states in Galatians chapter 5, saying, This I say then, Walk in the Spriit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Because the flesh lusts (wars or fights) against the Spirit, and the Spirit lust (wars or fights) againts the flesh and these (flesh & Spirit) are contrary one to the other, so that you connot do the things that you would like to do that are right. Galatians chapter 5.
In Romans chapter 7, Paul explians how we, as Christians struggles with two natures from within us.
(1) What does Paul mean that there is a struggle of two natures of law within us according to Romans chapter 7.
(2) What are the two natures of law?
(3) What is the real struggle from within us that every christian expereinces?
Paul is mostly talking of the old man in romans ch 7, he refers to the inward man that is under the law of sin and death, and the flesh which is governed by that law and when the new man is in Christ Jesus, he the spirit man is delivered from the law of sin and death, and is no under the law of life in Christ Jesus, but the flesh, body, are still under the law of sin and death is also, the soul of man, the mind, the will and emotions.
When we look at this passage in Romans chapter 7, Paul describes for us really three natures within man.
And you're correct Pj, when you stated that he is spaeking about our old nature when we were sinners, and our new nature when we become born again.
There are many Christian who don't believe nor do they know the difference between the two, and this is why many continue to sin, because they have not allowed the Holy Sprit to do His work in them.
1. Paul desribes the spiritual man who is the born again believers who is under the total control of the Holy Sprit, and under the grace of Jesus Christ. And has been deleivered from the demands and bondage of the law of sin and penalty of death through salvation. This is why he also write that there is not condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, becasue we can go befroe God and repent of our sins. But this doesn't give us the license to continue to sin, because God will punsih (chastise us) as He says in Hebrews chapter 12.
2. Paul also describes the natural man who is the sinner, who is unsaved and continues to live his/her life under the control of the law of sin, and the bondage of sin and death. As Paul points out that the wages of sin is death, and sin bring death whether its spirtually, mentally, emotionally, financially or physically, unless the sinner receives Christ and TURN away from his/her sins.
3. Paul goes on to poitn out the carnel man, who is saved by grace because she/hes believed in Jesus Christ, but they
continue to live their lives under the control of their own carnal minds and thoughts and has not surrendered totally to the control of the Holy Sprit. Therefore, this person is under the law and bondage of his/her own mind and doing things his/her way. And is out of touch with God, and is into self.
And the reason why the old nature of man that is in the sinner#2, and the carnal nature of the #3 person is becasue of sin as Paul points out # 2 person has Not received Christ nor repented of his/her sins. And the # 3 person has received Christ , but has not trusted in Christ to deliver him/her from their sisn, becasue of non repentance of ALL of their sins, and these are they who sin and think that they can continue to sin and do things thier own way, and God will over look and forgive thier sins.
The struggle is between the sinful nature, the carnal nature, and the Hoyl Spitiual fo God trying to make changes within the person who has received Christ. But the carnal and sinful natures war (struggle gainst the changes)
This is why I posted conversion and regeneration. and asked the question what is the difference between the two that every christian experience, according to what Paul has written in Galations chapter 5.
I believe there is a scriptural balance here, we want to be careful and demonstrate the proper relationship with a christian and the holy spirit, he is man's helper, and not man's doer, this relationship is as every part of our christianity is relative to our submitting our will, unto the lordship of Jesus on a continual basis.
When man is born again, the old man dies, no longer exist's, this new man is born from above and is completely new, not renewed, but made new by the Spirit of God, this what the bible refers to as the heart of man, or man's spirit, this where the holy spirit lives with a believer.
Man is a three part being:1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
When man is born again it is the spirit of man that is made new as is stated in 2nd corinthians 5:17
The soul of man is not saved in the new birth, this is so vital to understand, because the real man has a responsibility to his soul as taught in:Jas 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. The soul of man is to be subject to the inward man, we know the soul of man, is made up of his mind, will and emotions.
The phrase is able to save your soul, this word save means to:
to rescue, to make whole, or bring in right relationship to God, to note it is the word of God that makes whole the soul of man. We same that principal again in this scripture:Ro 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
This scripture lays it out for us, unless you do something with your mind, nothing will change and the carnal man will end up dominating the new man, which is what you normally see with most Christians.
, because they are never taught theses truth's, we are not to live out of our mind, but the inward man, the new man is to renew the soul of man that man's soul will know the will of God first good and then acceptable and ultimately the perfect will of God. this process will continue as long as we are on the earth.
In Romans when it speaks of the flesh, it is defined at times as the carnal man, that would include man's soul and his body.
The inward man is to do something with his soul and body, that they do not dominate the Spirit of man,
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
PJ, you start off making good points, but for some reason you end up stumbling over your own feet and the words you speak, and get lost by the way side... PLEASE, STOP trying to be a teacher of the Word of God BEFORE you have LEARNED as a STUDENT...
May God Himself open your understanding into His Holy Word through the power of the Holy Spirit, by the renewing and regeneration (ILLUMINATION) of your mind, to understand with God's divine wisdom, God's divine knowledge, and God's divine understanding of, and in the things and word of God. Amen!.:glow::angel:
I'm not trying to be means, but a harsh reproof and correction must be given at some point in time, so that yu may grow spiritually as you should.:hearts:
I hear what you say but you are trying to correct the word of god not me I did not write it, i would humbly say you are speaking to you, when one has given themselves over to the word of men they are normally very unteachable, please consider your ways.
