AND MRS. JOB SPOKE....

We are all familiar with the story of Job. He (and his wife)suffer deeply. They lose everything they have, including their 10 children. Then on top of that, Jobs body gets smoted with sore boils...

Job2:9 (KJV)

Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.

Why would the wife of Job speak like this?

I think it's that she doesn't believe in God's sovereignty or loving care. She feels that because of all the tragedy, that Job might as well be dead... She sees no hope and doesn't see that God has a plan for their lives. So, she tempts Job by telling him to curse God, as she probably believed that if he did so, God would strike him dead and thus put an end to the misery.

Interesting response Pixy, but what you see in Job is far from, the father's sovereignty. all that happened in Job was Satan's dominion at work, until you come to the end of Job, after Job repented and prayed the lord turned his captivity.

Believers should agree with the word of God, Satan is at this time as in the time of Job the God of this world, Jesus told us that, in his word Satan needed no permission from the father, Adam and Eve Had already give it to them.

This is what Jesus tells us: Luke 4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

This passage tells us how Satan became God of this World.

Jesus Said if you accept his word you accept him, if you reject is word you reject him

2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

There is our second witness to establish, Satan as the one in control of the earth.

Mt 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

2Co 13:1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

this is an old and new testament Principle.

We need to define the Sovereignty of the lord in line with his word.

The present Sovereignty is different after Satan's Defeat, he is still god of this world, but the dominion is given back to the body of Christ. or the church.

Eph 2:1  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

This is another clear picture of Satan's dominion over man in verse, some translations read subject to the prince and power of the air.

Satan's authority NEVER overrides God's sovereignty. God is still sovereign and still holds us in His hands, even when Satan acts in our lives and in this world.

The bible does not say that, at any time.

You might as well have said the lord is a liar

Pixy.

Could it have been a temptation if it was not true.

Here is another Good example, what is the context of Romans 8:28, this is not the picture many try to claim it to be.

If sovereignty is as you say then God has to be a liar, He gave the earth and all that was on the earth to Adam, How could he have it, if he gave it?

Believing is a choice just as interpreting the word is, but they will not come up with the same answer.

12 Then the Lord said to Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power, only do not put forth your hand on him. So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord.Job !;12

5 I am the Lord, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God; I will gird you, though you have not known Me; 6 That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun that there is no one besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other, 7 The One forming light and creating darkness, causing well-being and creating calamity ]; I am the Lord who does all these.Isa.45,57

God has satan on a short leash,he can do nothing without permission from god,its always been that way and it will always be,PhilipJohn, with all due respect brother, your heart is good, but your knowledge is weak, you need to study more and talk less for a while..........In Christ........Steve

Gods sovereignty is also shown here...........Acts 13:48 adds i: "Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed." The implications of Luke's words are rather startling. Only those whom God appointed or predestined to eternal life believe the preaching of Paul and Barnabas! The rest, though they also hear the word of the Lord, persecute and expel them from the region. They do not believe what they hear, and it angers rather than converts them. We must conclude that God triggers something in the minds of those He calls, making the Lord's words agreeable, so they will believe what they are hearing
