Should we not know what the will of God is, on a subject, why is it inferred we don't or can't know.

The word of God known as the will of God surely says we can know, and we have the responsibility to know

Abraham and old testament Saint was fully persuaded, and he did not have near the abilities we have as believers.

We should be filled withe knowledge of his will, we have it readily available to us.

1Jo 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Lu 7:28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

Col 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

Knowing the Word does not mean knowing Gods Will.

God enters into a personal relationship with each individual. Without that, you know nothing and go nowhere.

Also, you cannot know Gods Will for someone else by knowing the Word (bible).

@PhilipJohn

Absolutely

Lets take a simple example

Matt 19:16-26

The young man keeps the all the commandments.

Then Jesus says: sell all your possessions, give it to the poor and follow Me.

Let us just suppose you could do that!

Then do you know by reading the bible what to do next with you life? How would you follow Him?

Would not you need God entering in your heart and reveal that? If God would not reveal this to you, would not you be doing your own will?

And once again: you can read the bible up and down, still you will NEVER know Gods Will for other persons.

The Word says: seek the Kingdom of God.

That also means that no one, even if perfectly knowing the word, is able to seek and find it for someone else.

Jesus says: I am the way.

That also means that no one, even if perfectly knowing the word, is able to be that way for himself or for somebody else.

And by the way, even though knowing and understanding the word, we fall. How can that be?

And does knowing the word lift us up as well? Does not God have to bend down and lower Himself to take us out? Can we take ourselves out by knowing the word?

And by the way once more, how big was the bible when Abraham lived? God had a personal relationship with Abraham. God was the Word.... and it should still be so today. God must be in our heart not in our bible.

The Scripture reveals Gods Purpose with His creation and also proves His tremendous love for us; it tells us that despite our deep sinn, we still can have fellowship with Him. But you should seek the Kingdom.... to do that you need God

Yes indeed really! If you know your bible verses.... you know nothing and go nowhere.

Well in every point you made Scripture disagrees with you, you can not know God if it is not according to his word, and his word is his will.

@PhilipJohn

Of course, that is why I am a sinner and you are totally saved....:stop::stop::stop:

Anyway, I have pointed out my view in reply to your thread. This is as good as it will get...

All you have to do now is wait to get lucky enough to get reply from somebodyelse

I don't consider my view of any value, I accept the lord's word as the truth, By the way I never said you are a sinner, but if you are you can change that, it is the best thing any one can do.

@PJ:

The bible says, there was not one righteous man in the world, and we all are evil from youth. So how could one make himself not a sinner anymore? Sorry to be so hard, but htis is blasphemy. Pure blasphemy.

We can seek not to sin anymore, and we might be blessed with some kind of success, but can we be sure we never fail again? No! Thinking so seems to me as pure human pride, like "look at me, I am so righteous". You know the story of the scribe and the sinner who went to temple, one repenting his sins and the other thanking God not to be like the sinner? You know, the sinner came out made righteous by the Lord, the scribe was stuck in his self-righteousness.

@Harriet:

Good testimony, You're great.:purpleangel:
