FOR IT IS WRITTEN...Posted : 1 Apr, 2010 08:26 AMI do believe that the bible is our standard for judgment. The bible says homosexuality is wrong, and it doesn't matter how many people say "it's ok". It's a sin, and while homosexuals can become part of God's church, they need to stop sinning...just like if a thief wanted be baptized. It's all sin, and anyone that is trying to serve God should be trying to avoid all sin. But can you see the difference? The bible is clear about homosexuality and murder. It's sin. What about different beliefs that aren't "sin"? Free will? Once save always saved? Observing Easter/Christmas/Passover? Water Baptism? Not working on Sabbath? Belonging to a denomination? I'm pretty sure different people here have differing viewpoints on those subjects with quite a few scriptures to back them up. So when someone says "we don't have to keep the sabbath holy! Heresy!" or if someone says "Predestination makes God evil! Heresy!" then they're going to have words...because they both think they're right and they both think they have God/the bible on their side. My continuing question on here is how do you judge a persons heart by calling their beliefs/interpretations sin on certain matters? You can't...because if you're rebuking someones interpretation of the bible, then you're admitting that it's possible for humans to misinterpret the bible and bringing your own interpretation into firing range as well. I just think anyone that thinks they get to judge those things needs to be able to humbly judge themselves with the same standard...or they eliminate themselves from being able to judge. Only God can judge the heart. I guess my point is...if someone believes they are serving God, and if they aren't living in open, willing, obvious sin...then I don't think anybody should call their beliefs or motives evil. We don't know their heart, or where they're at in their walk, and we don't know God's plan in their lives. I suppose that kinda leaves "witnessing about your beliefs" or "living your beliefs" as the only option to really convince other Christians. "This is what I believe is right" and "this is how I try to live" instead of "Your beliefs are evil". Show your fellow Christians how God is leading in your life by your example and let the Holy Spirit and their conscience do the rest. |

FOR IT IS WRITTEN...Posted : 7 Apr, 2010 09:27 AMDon't Hit The mark: It is not as complicated as many try to make it, the problems come in, when you hear that word interpretation. Christians are called to believe, there is a minor place where the word interpretation would fit, but it is with scripture to scripture. |
