"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. Jesus said these words in John 6:44
People cannot come to me unless the Father who sent me brings them to me. I will bring these people back to life on the last day. New living Translation
John 6:65 And He was saying, "For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father."
So what is this saying? Only God can open a persons mind to understand His truth
Mark 4:1-20 Behold, there went out a sower to sow: And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some a hundred. And he said unto them, He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? The sower soweth the word. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
So what is good ground? Only God knows The Human Heart and only He can decide!
Do we with our mind contact, or commune with God? No Never
Is it a Christian to do something with their mind Yes.
Ro 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God
We are responsible to renew our mind with the word of God, and know the perfect will of God for our life.
Stony Ground is just that stony, the stones need to be removed, that the soil will eventually produce 30, 60, 70 fold
Mk. 4:16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
Mk 4:17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the words sake, immediately they are offended.
This teaching in Mk tells exactly how the kingdom of God operates, it is the believer's responsibility to know and apply and understand this truth.
Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (also Luke 12:34)
I wondered: Where is God's treasure? What is God's treasure? Surely, it is not money or his treasure and heart would be mainly invested oil sheiks and Bill Gates. For many months I pondered these verses.
One day I was speaking with a homeless man and told him about my questions and that this had been troubling me for many months. I wanted to know where God's heart and treasure was to be found. He said to me, "Debbie, don't you know what God's treasure is?" I said, "NO! If you know, tell me!" He said, "Souls!"
Of course that is God's treasure, so, to me, good ground is ground that is adding to God's treasure. If it is increasing God's Kingdom by helping people to reconcile and enter into a covenant with God, then it is good ground!
