I know a lot of people don't believe the bible and I say, "how can you say that!!" When you read through the bible there are so many modern like things that take place. For example...

When Moses is up in the mountains getting the Ten Commandments from God Aaron is down below creating for the people a false god to worship. When Moses comes down and sees what is going on he inquires of Aaron as what is happening and Aaron replies in modern language, "what...what do you mean?? I just simply placed the gold in the fire and out came this golden calf!!"

I have a younger brother, yes I realize that Aaron is older, but I can see him doing something like. He does something he's not supossed to and when I call him on it he makes all kinds of excuses, just like Aaron does.

It are real stories like this that make me wonder how anyone could deny that the word of God is real. There are tons of these examples throughout the bible. I just wish these same people would actually read through the bible before making these crazy accusations.

dude I'm with you completely! the Bible is full of examples that people don't "hear" or "see" for themselves. I actually googled "proof of God" and got a pretty cool website. It names six facts that point to God, but even says some people will flat out refuse to believe. All we can do is point em toward God, and He'll do His thing, or not, but we can't argue people into heaven, only love em. A good example is better that any good advice." People are dumb, but It's the Bible that tells us that too Surprise!!! All we can do is point the lost to the Light, the rest is up to Him...

Yes, everything that happens in our lives and what we see all around us is cyclic.... History repeats itself in our world today. That's why I think it is so, so, important that we let our eyes touch the bible as often as we can...as what we see around us, experience situations with family and friends, we have the word of God as example to help us to understand that it is usually "nothing new under the sun", but the same, just a different day, different time in history. If we are smart and perceptive enough to keep the "Word of God" hidden in our hearts, there is no situation or interaction with another, that will ever take us by surprise, because we have so many examples of any and every kind of situation you could ever want to know about in life... right there through the people who lived before us. Amazing, simply amazing... And just think! It's all given to us for free... I mean, who needs a psychiatrist? It's all here for us "free of charge".

I think it might be that they don't realize these are real stories that happened to real people.

I always tell the kids I teach that what I'm telling them (or reading to them) is true - it really happened, and these were real people. Their lives are filled with so much make believe and fantasy that they need to hear and know that God's word is TRUTH.

What still bothers me stormcountry is people will believe that Abraham Lincoln or Martin Luther King were "real" people.. cause we got history of physical material (Lincoln) and videos (King) ... something of sight reference that they believe.

But seems like they just overlook the "Bible" as just something dreamed up, and because they can't see... or have proof or physical, something they could get there hands on to prove it.. they don't believe. ~ GraceMae
