John 17:7 Thy Word Is TruthPosted : 18 Jan, 2010 12:50 PMI want to pose a question, to bring peaceful communication to christians on this site, and defining a christian as one that is born again. Why Do believers seem so frequently, to not believe the word of God as the truth? |

John 17:7 Thy Word Is TruthPosted : 18 Jan, 2010 02:08 PMI think, and I'm of the younger generation, that it has to do with not "fitting" into what they want to believe. For example, we are raised in a society where stealing is more acceptable than murder mainly because we see murder as being MORE of a crime. However, the Bible states that before God a sin is a sin. We have trouble with this and other issues because it doesn't make sense to our beliefs. Therefore we, as a society and young group of Christians, challenge the meaning of the Word. Also, I think we analyze for the time of which it was written versus the time of today. We use the difference in time to justify a false understanding of the Word. It is sad and we will have to answer for it someday. Thanks for the post! |

John 17:7 Thy Word Is TruthPosted : 18 Jan, 2010 07:53 PMYeah...there is only one truth...and many interpretations. Finding the right one is what gets argued over. I'm not sure if thats what you meant though.... |

John 17:7 Thy Word Is TruthPosted : 18 Jan, 2010 09:15 PMYes mam the word of God, in any sense, for instance the majority on this site are not sure if the lord wants them to marry, and then they are not sure if they can know with confidence if they have the right one. |

John 17:7 Thy Word Is TruthPosted : 18 Jan, 2010 09:25 PMIt definetly matters, most of what you said I would agree with, so what message do we have if the word of God is true? |

John 17:7 Thy Word Is TruthPosted : 18 Jan, 2010 09:30 PMMy Question is where is the precedence to interpret? My point is to encourage people to question what and why they believe what they do. The only pattern I see in scripture is to believe. |
