Some Bible scholars say Esau is the Church.

It could have been Abraham Isaac and Esau but Esau did not care about his birth right. Do you see?

Abraham Isaac and Jacob are the fathers of the nation of God (Israel). Esau didn't care a thing about being in the blood line of those national fathers. That blood line is a very important line because of the plan for Jesus to be in the heritage of that blood line.

Esau is also the father of many of the nations who hate the nation of Israel.

I think there is more, but does that help any?

Yes Stephan, thank you very much for your reply!! :applause:

Do you think Esau being so hairy has anything to do with it?

As in, God made it easier for Jacob to imitate Esau?

Just curious,

A decendant of Esau took over the 10 Northern tribes after Solomon's evil rein. 1 Kings 11:14 Some believe they are the Church

King Herod was a decendant of Esau. He built a Temple in Jereusalem for Rome.

Rome became the Christians.

Most of Malachi is about future events. The hate could be for a future problem.

Who are today's descendants of Esau? I am aware of today's descendant of Ishmael. Leviticus has always confused me.

Number 26 is the most important chapter in Leviticus as it gives the rules for living and consequenses of sin.

Eschatology (study of geneology and end times) is a good way to get rich as a writer but is all speculation.

Wow, thanks for sharing this with us Brothers! I love to see men that inspire me to read in places I have neglected. I really learned a lot on this short thread. Maybe I am easily impressed, but I enjoy finding people that can intelligently share Biblical inspiration. It is so refreshing, and I truly admire that. Thank you!!

I think Stephan hit it. Esau sold his birthright for lunch. He refused God's eternal plan for momentary relief of hunger. How sad is that?
