Actually a lot of Greek and Roman mythology was built on these creatures where demons mated with the daughters of Eve, and Biblical creatures were in the days of Goliath. The reason for the Great Flood is said to cleanse the Earth of such creatures. There is also a rumored woman before Eve that was not deemed suitable or pleasing unto Adam. Her name was Lilith, and she is rumored to be a jealous enemy of Eve's children. There is not a lot of historical support on this but she is definitely supported in legends passed down throughout the generations. Children dying in crib death and such have long been attributed to death at her hands, and many an amulet was created for protection against her. Did she exist? I have no idea, but I don't really rule out the possibility of such things we really do not know. The important thing is not so much whether there is anything to it as whether or not this really affects us. I think it is good to be aware of legends as such for what they are, legends, which may or may not merit further thought, but realistically, it is what is in the Bible that we can count on and believe and defend as truth. If God did not include such legends, then He did not consider then to be important enough for us to dwell upon, or perhaps they may not even really be true, but there is a great deal of support for demons mating with the daughters of Eve. I think it is distinctly possible that they may still be around as well. Legends of Atlantis lean greatly toward this theory, and though this mythological place may or may not have existed, the theory is that it did, and that even though the city was destroyed, many of the descendants survived, but they are rumored to be demonic creatures that mated with humans and still to this day maintain the secret societies and hidden agendas. If you look at all things being relative, they often times do fit into things biblical, and often what is not addressed, is because our focus is not to be directed toward such things, for they are inherently evil, and to entertain our thoughts toward evil things is not a safe place to direct our focus, for deception dwells in evil things, and entertaining such thoughts creates a distance from the ways of God. So as you seek an awareness of such things, I think one should always focus on how they fit with God, and if we are meant to give focus toward such things and how that focus should be directed. For it is good to know about things so you can defend how they fit into a bigger picture, but many dwell upon them into obsession, and that can be very dangerous and seductive. There are thoughts that many of today's "seers" come from this line as well. Another reason why we should not be drawn into such things. Any time you look at such things, always, always explore what the Bible says about such things. Discernment is important, and if you feel it is not your gift, I would really not explore things that border this thinking at all. Tarasye Post Reply

Adam lived to be over 900 years old and God did tell him and Eve to multiply. So in 900 there would have to be many sons and daughters. So Cain married one of his sisters. Now hold on before you lynch me. That era was so close to the fall that errors in DNA duplication were hardly an issue. There was no danger of the DNA losing information and causing birth defects, so it was allowable to take a sibling as a spouse. It was only later when the errors in replication of DNA became prevalent that God ordered no interfamily marriages. Make sense? This also brings up the point that Adam and Eve had all the DNA nescessary between them for every different characteristics we see today. So we all are from the same blood. As people grouped together and became more territorial -- certain charteristics were lost and eventually those traits thet were left became to be associated with that group. So really the use of the word Race should be applied to only The Human Race. Peace Post Reply

The Genesis Record by Mortensen, he's a smart puppy. A wonderful gift that I've found along the way...when I've read a scripture that get's my goat...I go to the cross where I find real faith in Jesus. From there everything else is cake.
