Reading the BiblePosted : 3 Jan, 2026 05:16 PMYou have to start with a proper Bible. I suggest Authorized King James because the Nestle-Aland, 27th edition, page 45 states that all new translations and revisions come under the supervision of the Vatican. I suggest praying with a humble heart before reading. I would further suggest getting alone with God to interpret scripture for you, even if that means taking time off from Church. We cannot just be spoon fed what the Preacher says about the Word. We must be responsible when handling God's Word. I've learned so much just simply reading quietly alone. I cringe when I think back to old mindsets that manifested out of others lenses and other's opinions in the Pulpit that were clearly not Holy Spirit led. |

Reading the BiblePosted : 19 Jan, 2026 09:30 AMNoMoreUsernamesLeft also advocates for the Authorized King James version. From what he has said, it is THE ONLY ONE TO GO BY. He suggests that every other translation is of the devil, and as a matter of how some things get handled by some translations, you can understand why. Yet, my view is 1 Corinthians 14:9. " Yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue." To me, the Bible is a proclamation of the Word. Jesus is THE WORD. And the Bible is "THE PROCLAMATION" OF THAT WORD. There are human factors in the writing of the Bible and in our having the Bible. Jesus said, “You have sent to John and he has testified to the truth. Not that I accept human testimony; but I mention it that you may be saved." (John 5:33-34) The Authorized King James renders it this way: " Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth. But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved." |

Reading the BiblePosted : 19 Jan, 2026 03:26 PMYou’re saying that some scripture has been removed? On which ancient texts of scripture do you base that assumption? Could it be perhaps the KJV added words? I have a multiplicity of historic evidence based on a large number of textual studies of ancient scripture for suggesting that proposition. |
