- Jesus continues teaching



- The Sanhedrin scheme about how to kill Jesus



- Judas makes an agreement to betray Jesus to the Sadducees for gold



Holy Wednesday Scripture

“...the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people. Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve. And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. They were delighted and agreed to give him money. He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present” (Luke 22:2-6).



Truth to Consider: The Lord displayed peace in the midst of storms



Holy Wednesday Prayer

God,



The events of this last week of Jesus’ earthly life were turbulent, and ended in violence. I confess it’s hard to imagine that He could have had any rest or peace during that time. But Your Word says He made peace with His destiny, because He leaned on You. Help me to do the same - to release my worries and take hold of the peace You offer instead.



I pray this in Jesus’ name.
