Why Thomas calls Jesus God in John 20:28? (Note, Thomas addresses Jesus specifically).
Why does God call Jesus God in Heb. 1:8?
Why does John the apostle state that Jesus was the Word which was God that became flesh (John 1:1, 14)?
Why is the phrase “Call upon the name of the LORD” (Hebrew, YHWH, i.e., Psalm 116:4) used only of God on the OT and translated into Greek in the LXX as “Call upon the name of the LORD (greek, “KURIOS”) applied to Jesus in the NT (1 Cor. 1:2) if Jesus is not God in flesh?
Why does the apostle John say that Jesus was ” . . . calling God His own Father, making Himself equal to God.” (John 5:18)?
What did Jesus say that caused the Pharisees to claim that Jesus was making Himself out to be God (John 8:58)?
How was it possible for Jesus to know all things (John 21:17)?
How can Jesus know all men (John 16:30)?
How can Jesus be everywhere (Matt. 28:20)?
How can Jesus, the Christ, dwell in you (Col. 1:27)?
How can Jesus be the exact representation of the Nature of God (Heb. 1:3)?
How can Jesus be eternal (Micah 5:1-2)?
How can Jesus be the one who gives eternal life (John 10:27-28)?
How can He be our only Lord and Master (Jude 4)?
How can Jesus be called the Mighty God (Isaiah 9:6) if there is only one God in existence (Isaiah 44:6-8; 45:5)?
How can Jesus be called the Mighty God (Isaiah 9:6) and “God” also be called the Mighty God in Isaiah 10:21?
How was Jesus able to raise Himself from the dead (John 2:19-21)?
How can Jesus create all things (Col. 1:16-17), yet it is God who created all things by Himself (Isaiah 44:24)?
How can Jesus search the hearts and minds of the people (Rev. 2:23)?
Why was Jesus worshipped (Matt. 2:2, 11; 14:33; 28:9; John 9:35-38; Heb. 1:6) when He says to worship God only (Matt. 4:10)? (same Greek word for worship is used in each place.)
In the OT God was seen (Exodus 6:2-3; 24:9-11; Num. 12:6-9; Acts 7:2), yet no man can see God (Exodus 33:20; John 1:18). It was not the Father that was seen in the OT (John 6:46). Who, then were they seeing? See John 8:58.
Then why did Jesus claim the divine name, “I AM” for Himself in John 8:58? see Exodus 3:14.
Then why did Jesus say you must honor him even as you honor the Father (John 5:23)?
Then why is it that both the Father and the Son give life (John 5:21)?
Then why did Jesus bear witness of Himself (John 8:18; 14:6)?
First of all, you have lots of out-of-context scriptures to say that Jesus is God when they are not even close to saying that. Jesus was there from day one of Genesis 1:23 as the words "us" and "our" are used. We see this many times: God talking to someone, and it was not Lucifer. We see similar language in Genesis 11:7. The verses you have are the same verses bewitched and carnal-minded preachers are taking people to hell with. We are talking about two spirits in the Old Testament and not one. Pervert preachers always like to introduce the Greek or Hebrew to push their false gospel. My Bible is in English; that is all I know and understand. It has been translated from Greek and Hebrew. If I was seeking to translate the bible into Greek and Hebrew then I would need to know what it means. The problem is we are too busy translating something that has already been translated back into the original language. It is already translated and diligently over and over until they got it right.
The Holy Bible, Containing the Old Testament and The New: Translated out of the Original Tongues, and With the former Translations Diligently Compared and Revised, By His Majesty’s Special Command. Appointed to be Read in Churches.
Thomas NEVER said to Jesus in John 20:28, "My Lord God." he said, "My Lord AND my God," which goes back to John 14:10 as Jesus was talking to Thomas and Phillip. Thomas knew Jesus was the door in John 10:7. Thomas was going from the outside in because he knew to reach God the Father you have to go through the Son John 14:6. Paul picked it up in Hebrews 10:19-21. It is through Jesus the Son of God that we can have access to God the Father. We are looking at the door and saying it is God when it is not; no difference between me calling your mother your father and your father your mother two separate articles and two different people.
In the Old Testament they all seen Jesus Christ the Son of God Daniel 3:25 and Jacob saw him in Genesis 49:10. Even Job 19:25-27. Jesus was called the Holy One throughout the Old Testament such as Psalm 16:10 and Acts 2:27. Nobody ever saw God, not even Moses as nobody can see God save the Son John 1:18. Nobody can see God and live to tell about it Exodus 33:19-23 Moses seen God's backside and never his face. They saw the Son of God many times and prophecied that the Son of God was coming and not one prophet ever said God was coming. You have to read the whole bible not just one or two verses this is where people stumble and fall by using out of context verses to justify a lie. The biggest liar is the devil John 8:44. You have to put the scriptures in context. People stumble at the word instead of reading on to get the full meaning what the bible is talking about as Jesus is a rock of offence and a stumbling block to those who stumble at his words.
John 5:18 stumps people because they do not read on why Jesus was equal with God. It is not at all saying Jesus is God. Verse 22 is the answer. What is it to be equal?
Equal = a person or thing considered to be the same as another in status or quality.
Jesus was not God John 5 is not even close to saying it he was equal with God. Paul mentions the same thing. Jesus being in the form of God and not God a form which means as an example as Jesus was the image of God. Image meaning example. You have Abraham Lincoln on your penny an image an example and not him live in person on your penny.
John 5:18] Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
John 5:22] For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
[23] That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
Philippians 2:5] Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
[6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
[7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
[8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
[9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
[11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Daniel 3:25] He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
Job 19:25] For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
[26] And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
[27] Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
Jeremiah 51:[5] For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.
Rev 11:7] And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
[8] And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
First of all, you have lots of out-of-context scriptures to say that Jesus is God when they are not even close to saying that. Jesus was there from day one of Genesis 1:23 as the words "us" and "our" are used
Not only was Jesus Christ from day one , but before as well
John 17:5
With the glory which I had with You before the world was: Jesus was aware of His pre-existence, and of the nature of that pre-existence. Jesus understood there was a time in eternity past when God the Son and God the Father enjoyed a shared glory.
i. Jesus could not truthfully or sanely pray this if He were not Yahweh Himself, equal with God the Father. In Isaiah 42:8 and 48:11, Yahweh proclaimed that He shares His glory with no one.
⚡⚡🕯️🕯️ If God the Father and God the Son share their glory, they must both be Yahweh, God
ii. “He had one main petition: that the Father would receive him back to the glory he had relinquished to accomplish his task. This petition for a return to his pristine glory implies unmistakably his preexistence and equality with the Father. It confirms his claim that he and the Father are one (John 10:30).” (Tenney)
Again out of context verses. God did not share his glory with anybody as Jesus did not come yet. Isaiah was before Jesus; after Jesus, it is a different story. Again, there are things in the bible that happened before the cross and after the cross as Jesus did not arrive until Matthew chapter 1. Who do you think was in heaven talking to Jesus off and on in the bible? If Jesus was God, then he sure was a confused one and used tons of deceit and being around the bush all the time, such as Mark 9:7. You are saying the angel Gabriel was lying to Mary when he told her that you were going to give birth to the Son of God in Luke 1:35? If Jesus was God, he would say John 3:16 so differently, and he would say other verses so differently. I don't think the disciples were demon-possessed and confused when they were brought to shore by Jesus in Matthew 14:33. The apostle John was not loaded with demons in 1st John 4:15 when he said, whosoever shall confess Jesus Christ is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him. The apostle Paul never met Jesus, and yet he proclaimed from day one he was the Son of God in Acts 9:20. Big deal. You believe in God, so does the devil James 2:19. The Only difference is demons tremble while mankind perverts.
One verse or scripture does not cancel the bible as Jesus does not cancel Jesus. Jesus cancels your unbelief and not your unbelief cancelling him.
Again, you have two fictional characters whom the bible does not talk about: God the Son and God the Holy Ghost, adding to the bible from the pit of hell who can't do a thing for anybody. God the Son never lived a day on the earth nor died for my sins like the Son of God Jesus Christ did. God the Holy Ghost never came down on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2 like the Holy Ghost did. God the Holy Ghost only came down once, and that was when you received a strong delusion to believe a lie to be cast into hell with 2nd Thess 2:10-12. Can't raise the dead, make the blind to see in the name of a fictional character called God the Son.
If that is the case Jesus is God, then what did Stephen see in Acts 7? He would have reported something different.
Sorry, but your thinking is way off as what you were taught does not match the bible. Isaiah has scripture that sounds like he is saying Jesus is God like Isaiah 9:6 and he is not not even close to saying Jesus is God as Isaiah never said the Almighty God and Father. It is the mighty vs the almighty. Jesus is the mighty God and not the Almighty God and Father.
Good luck with that gospel as they that are in the grave are going to hear the voice of the Son of God John 5:25. If you are waiting to hear from God the Son you will never hear him same as God the Holy Ghost as the devil knows how to mimicks God's voice and pull a fast one. He sure can't on me I know the difference as I know my bible whether it is Lucifer or Jesus speaking. God only talks through his Son Jesus Hebrews 1:2 and not through a fictional character called God the Son or God the Holy Ghost.
" Again out of context verses. God did not share his glory with anybody as Jesus did not come yet. Isaiah was before Jesus "
Jesus Christ said otherwise
john 8 :56 Your father Abraham was overjoyed that he would see My day; he saw it and rejoiced." 57 The Jews replied, "You aren't 50 years old yet, and You've seen Abraham?" 58 Jesus said to them, "I assure you: Before Abraham was, I am."
v59 At that, they picked up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus was hidden and went out of the temple complex
🤔🧐 So why did the Jews pick up stones to kill Jesus, was it because
