“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could WISH YOU WERE COLD or hot. Rev 3:15

You are cold/hot for Christ when you are rich in faith and are not mixing Law and Grace which Jesus finds disgusting.

I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich(in faith); and white garments, that you may be clothed(with His righteousness), that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see(the gospel). Rev3:18

Dom

Galatians 2:21 makes it clear we cannot mix law and Grace other wise

That would nullify Grace

However 1 Timothy 5:18

"For the Scripture says, 'You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,' and, 'The laborer is worthy of his wages'"

& There is a bema seat judgment 2 Corinthians 5:10 in regards to the process of sanctification. When Christ does return we need to be found laboring in the fields

Hi homelesschristian,

Regarding receiving the free gift eternal life, there is no "process" of sanctification.

Such were some of you; but you WERE WASHED, but you WERE SANCTIFIED(past tense), but you WERE JUSTIFIED the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. 1 Cor 6:11

Heb 10:14  For by one offering he hath PERFECTED FOREVER them that ARE SANCTIFIED

See also Acts 20:32, 26:18. Rom 15:16, 1 Cor 1:2, Heb 2:11, Jude 1:1

All believers are instantly and permanently sanctified upon believing the truth of the gospel.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us FOR THE THINGS DONE WHILE IN THE BODY, whether good or bad.

This verse is referring to already sanctified saints, like Paul, and has nothing to do with being judged whether they will keep their salvation or not.

The other form of sanctification has to do with daily maturing in Christ like abstaining from sexual immorality but is in no way a condition for salvation.

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;...1 thess 4:3

To summarize, “sanctification” is a translation of the Greek word hagiasmos, meaning “holiness” or “a separation.” In the past, God granted us justification, a once-for-all, positional holiness in Christ. In the present, God guides us to maturity, a practical, progressive holiness. In the future, God will give us glorification, a permanent, ultimate holiness. These three phases of sanctification separate the believer from the penalty of sin (justification), the power of sin (maturity), and the presence of sin (glorification).

DOM, you’re confusing sanctification (an ongoing work of God) with justification (a once and for all act of God).

You’re may be right concerning “hot or cold”, in this particular context, being good and lukewarm being bad.

As for contexts containing sanctification, you haven’t shown HC having cited a particular context improperly.

As noted from your past posts, you remain only partially correct.
