Billy Graham and Charles Coleson weren’t the only ones supporting ecumenism, many prominent preachers were on that bandwagon.

But why was Moses and why were the Disciples, the Prophets and Jesus not Ecumenicals⁉️⁉️

why shouldn’t all Christians become more like Charles Colson and Billy Graham?

They are both dead.

Jesus said he had other sheep. We are his other sheep.

Peter was sent to the likes of Cornelius.

Israel was to be a light to all nations.

We are to be a light to all.

There will always be divisions and there should be divisions. But nice there are some efforts to come together.

When I was little, my mother would not even go to a Catholic Thrift Store because she did not want to support anything Catholic.

Later in life, a Catholic Priest welcomed us as new folks in town and invited us to a soup feed as his guests.

My favorite experience in Sunday School was a Sunday School teacher of mine that would take us to a different church each Sunday to experience worship services at different churches of different denominations. I enjoyed the experience. In adult life, I would often go to three or four different churches on a Sunday and also went to church events of different churches and too went to went to Seventh Day Adventist churches. We don't have to agree on everything.

But I am not inclined to cement my feet at any place.

There are no perfect denominations.

Inter-denominational churches are not perfect either and non-denominational churches are not perfect.

There are no perfect places.

I have liked some events where people get together and set aside differences for a moment.

Of Moses, Moses married a Midianite woman. Then he married a Cushite woman.

Boaz married a Moabite.

Joseph married an Egyptian.

Solomon included an Ethiopian.

Point being, Israel wasn't just inbreeding. Israel wasn't just Israel but did a little reaching out.

Of course, Solomon did too much reaching out and his heart strayed for it.

W&T, lots of good ideas in your 2 posts.

Although have an established church home, I’m kinda like you in visiting other denomination churches and meeting new believers and even unbelievers. I think visiting other believers in their places of worship is an excellent opportunity to make new friends. I probably enjoy discussion opportunities the most. I might differ with your mom, in that I would also go to different denomination sponsored thrift stores.

Like I say, discussion opportunities get me excited but they require discernment and much wisdom. I try not to initiate disagreement but often times group leaders go around the room asking if anyone disagrees. Other times I politely ask if I can offer an alternative point of view.

I have lots of friends who think differently than me regarding various topics like gifts of the spirit, evolution and the like. Earlier I mentioned having atheist friends. I try to talk to them about them and their interests, then eventually, we get into deeper conversation about doctrine and such.

But sadly, throughout my experiences, I find myself confronted with an enormous amount of biblical ignorance, disbelief and people embracing false teaching. The Bible, in fact, predicts this kind of thing.

This is even more sad, I’m finding out that one of the most needy mission outreach opportunities lies behind many church doors

Ecumenism is not from Heaven. It is a religious movement to unite all religions under one banner: Satan banner. It is Antichrist at its core.
