There’s a least one troubling observation about the theory of “mental health”—well, maybe more than one thing.

The first problem—-who gets to define exactly what determines “mental health”?

Little david there are many qualifications for mental health such as your family dynamics, what medications you take prescribed by doctors and psychiatrists and sometimes mental illness runs in the family due to chemical imbalances in the brain. There are multiple ways to look at this like sometimes God divinely heals and other times He uses doctors and medications to aid in this process but also you need to be careful what kinds of medications you take because not all of them are safe and reliable. This is where researching things out and praying about things comes handy. Also you need to be careful who you go to for doctors, not all of them are trustworthy. I don't claim to have all the answers on this topic. Only Jesus and the right qualified experts have the answers on this. I am speaking from wisdom and experience because i take medications for bipolar. Does this help? I pray so. Since we live in a fallen world we need to learn to live with these problems until Jesus returns to rapture the church.

Good response, Evangelist

You’re right, one must exercise caution when seeking help for issues of the mind.

Mental issues may arise from variety of compelling circumstances for example: a troublesome family history, cognitive disorder, childhood abuse, harmful thinking and more.

Other people experience mental disparities because of one or more types of spiritual trap-sticks or bitterness of God

Still others may experience mental affliction due to demonic harassment (King Saul) or they may come under actual demonic possession.

The question then becomes—where to find competent counsel?

Sadly, many people needing help must seek it alone.

Churches should be a place of finding such help. AND churches should be a place that seeks those needing help. Unfortunately one must be discerning because not all churches are helpful and not all “helpful” people are genuinely helpful. Same goes for hospitals and mental health clinics.

The best first step is to cry out and pray to God in heartbroken earnest. If the troubled person can read—then check out the Psalms and the book of Job.

I think God will surly hear the prayer of a broken hearted seeker of God.

May he send good godly friends‼️

One mental health proffessional once declared that true friendship is a powerful cure. He said if a troubled soul could find one friend who loves no matter what

To God be the glory. And your response was biblical too. I am currently in the book of Job and heading towards Psalms too. This thread is being led by the LORD.
