Trouble is, these kinds of people fail to realize that the phrase: “we shouldn’t argue...” IS an argument—-a contradictory argument no less, because it seeks to silence other arguments, (especially those with which it disagrees), WITH AN ARGUMENT !! If it’s true we shouldn’t argue, then why do these people argue ⁉️⁉️ Seems they’re fond of argument but just don’t know it. Generally, those who engage in this kind of tripe are unacquainted with the Bible and with general terminology Granted, certain kinds of arguments ARE forbidden in scripture but others are used with frequency for the glory of God. Both Jesus and Paul disputed (argued) with false teachers. Prophet in the OT exposed false prophets and rebuked false Jews and false believers. Another example of valid argumentation lies within the legal profession. In a court of law, defense and prosecuting attorneys prepare arguments, counter—arguments and closing arguments. So, Arguments ARE legitimate forms of communication. Forbidden arguments are clearly defined in the Bible. For example: Back and forth bitter exchanges like, “I hate you”, “you’re just an idiot”, “you’re stupid” or other malicious or false accusations. Post Reply
