πŸ‘¨β€πŸ«fact is this......

the origins of Easter are obscure. It is often assumed that the name Easter comes from a pagan figure called Eastre (or Eostre) who was celebrated as the goddess of spring by the Saxons of Northern Europe. According to the theory, Eastre was the β€œgoddess of the east (from where the sun rises),” her symbol was the hare (a symbol of fertility), and a festival called Eastre was held during the spring equinox by the Saxons to honor her. This theory on the origin of Easter is highly problematic, however.

The major problem with associating the origin of Easter with the pagan goddess Eastre/Eostre is that we have no hard evidence that such a goddess was ever worshiped by anyone, anywhere. The only mention of Eastre comes from a passing reference in the writings of the Venerable Bede, an eighth-century monk and historian. Bede wrote, β€œEosturmonath has a name which is now translated as β€˜Paschal month,’ and which was once called after a goddess of theirs named Eostre, in whose honor feasts were celebrated in that month. Now they designate the Paschal season by her name, calling the joys of the new rite by the time-honoured name of the old observance” (De Temporum Ratione). And that’s it. Eostre is not mentioned in any other ancient writing; we have found no shrines, no altars, nothing to document the worship of Eastre. It is possible that Bede simply extrapolated the name of the goddess from the name of the month.

In the nineteenth century, the German folklorist Jakob Grimm researched the origins of the German name for Easter, Ostern, which in Old High German was OstarΓ’. Both words are related to the German word for β€œeast,” ost. Grimm, while admitting that he could find no solid link between Easter and pagan celebrations, made the assumption that Ostara was probably the name of a German goddess. Like Eastre, the goddess Ostara was based entirely on supposition and conjecture; before Grimm’s Deustche Mythologie (1835), there was no mention of the goddess in any writings.

So, while the word Easter most likely comes from an old word for β€œeast” or the name of a springtime month, we don’t have much evidence that suggests anything more. Assertions that Easter is pagan or that Christians have appropriated a goddess-holiday are untenable

πŸ€”πŸ€” our days of the week have pagan roots attributed to them

If one is so adamantly opposed to the pagan roots of the Christian holiday easter than are you also opposed to using our current Roman calendar days as well ❓❓

Luna / Selena is the Moon – Monday, Mars / Ares is TΓ½r – Tuesday, Mercury / Hermes is Odin – Wednesday, Jupiter / Zeus is Thor – Thursday, Venus / Aphrodite is Frige – Friday, Saturn / Chronos was adapted directly as Saturday and Sol / Helios is, of course, the Sun – Sunday

2️⃣

πŸ€”πŸ€” If breaking the Sabbath was punishable by death in the Old Testament (Exodus 31:14 & 35:2), why is it not condemned in any way, shape, or form in the New Testament? Various passages in the New Testament list numerous types of sinners who will not inherit the kingdom (see 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 5:19-21, 1 Timothy 1:9-10, and Revelation 21:8 & 22:15), but none of those lists ever mention Sabbath-breakers. Why is that ❓❓

πŸ€”πŸ€” also it is commanded from the Old testament that Torah law keepers are to Stone to death violators who break The Seventh-Day Sabbath adulterers false prophets homosexuals etc etc........ Have you been faithful in instrumenting capital punishment on the aforesaid torah law breakers or have you been derelict in your duty offending god with your hypocrisy ❓❓

Yes because its the gregorian calendar, that is circa 500 years old.

"The Gregorian calendar has become the standard for measuring the progression of time since Pope Gregory XIII first introduced it in the year 1582."

Psalm 90:12 says:

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Number our days, not naming them... is pretty obvious

Genesis 1:5 "And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day."

Genesis 1:8 "And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day."

Genesis 1:13 "And the evening and the morning were the third day."

Etcetera.

If you study how the hebrews kept time, they numbered not only the days, but the months also except the first month of ABIB, named after the star Abib or more commonly known as spica.

Deuteronomy 16:1

Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto the LORD thy God: for in the month of Abib the LORD thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.

Exodus 34:18

The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt.

Exodus 13:4

This day came ye out in the month Abib.

Exodus 23:15

Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:

Because of the new covenant. We're not under the law but under grace. The law isn't abolished but fulfilled through Jesus the Messias.

β€œNeither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.” (matthew 9:17)

Who says sunday is the sabbath? man? the gregorian calendar?

If you count the days from the first day of the first month (abib), then you'll know what day the sabbath is.

And before you're going to ask me when that is, there is a youtube channel specialized in that subject called; mikal scriptural studies

Okay but you're violating the law of non-contradiction on one hand you said

" Because of the new covenant. We're not under the law but under grace. The law isn't abolished but fulfilled through Jesus the Messias "

But on the other hand you're saying that a Sunday Sabbath is not acceptable -- thereby creating a contradiction

πŸ€”πŸ€” So if the Sunday Sabbath is not acceptable because Torah laws which continue in the age of Grace still demand a seventh day Sabbath -- then that begs the question where in the New testament is the capital punishments for breaking torah laws done away with ❓❓

Or are you just looking for a πŸ₯ chicken exit a pretext to not fulfill your obligations to carry out capital punishment against Torah law offenders because you would be charged with first degree premeditated homicide❓❓

What is grace? It is the forgiveness of sins by repentance. Thereby we have the remission of sins by overcoming them. No one is perfect but the Messias, who died for us so that we can be forgiven if we have faith in Him. He is the substitute lamb of God.

The Hebrew word we translate as β€˜repentance’ is teshuva (β€ŽΧͺΧ©Χ•Χ‘Χ”, pronounced β€œteh-shoo-vah”). And teshuva is a lot more than a feeling of guilt or regret. In fact, it derives from the verb β€˜to return to turn away ❗❗

πŸ€”πŸ€” But if you're perpetually breaking the commandment to not punish The Seventh-Day Sabbath violators as well as the other violators adultery homosexuality blasphemy false prophecy etc etc

How can you say that your sins are forgiven by Yeshua ❓❓

1st Samuel 16:7 says God looks upon the heart and acts 19:30 says that he is not the author of confusion

Deuteronomy 4:2 says

Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you.

Revelation 22:19

And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and the holy city, which are described in this book

Exodus 31:14 reads, 'Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death; for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.'

turn to Deuteronomy 13:6, 10; 21:18, 21; 22: 21-28, and all of Leviticus 20, he will read there a whole series of injunctions concerning the putting to death of persons who were idolaters, who were rebellious to their parents, who committed adultery or were guilty of incest, who cursed father or mother -- in fact, who violated any part of the moral code. Indeed, someone has estimated that no less than nine of the Ten Commandments are specifically mentioned in connection with the penalty of death for their violation

⚠️⚠️ fact is you are being very hypocritical and Jesus said woe unto the hypocrites ❗❗ matthew 23:13

Matthew 23:4

They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them
