That gives us some perspective when we approach the letter of Hebrews. The writer is calling them away from physical things to spiritual things. Christ is better than angels. He is better than Moses. He is better than Levi and Aaron. His sacrifice is better than all the sacrifices offered in the temple. Christ suffered death outside the gate, outside the city, outside the temple. We are to join him there, outside, bearing his shame and reproach. We have no city or state here. We have no physical temple or physical sacrifice. We have no sacred place on earth. Just as the Jews who received this letter were to do, we are to leave the physical things behind. We are seeking the heavenly things , which are better (Hebrews 11:16, 13:12-14). Post Reply
Quiznos View Profile History	Go Outside The Camp Posted : 19 Mar, 2022 10:10 AM @ohio Ohio, since Messiah is greater than Moses, and His covenant is better than the first covenant, then why do 'christians' still meeting according to the Old Covenant not the new. Is not 1 Corinthians 14 they way BELIEVERS are to be meeting, then why do they reject the Scriptures in order to hold onto the so called Mosaic style of meeting. Post Reply

Truly it is the way we meet, not the where. We do not rely on any person to function as a priest for us. Christ has fulfilled that by his once and for all sacrifice. We add nothing to it. We as individuals have direct access to the Father through Christ. Post Reply
