They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not " dom_64 ( the female teddy bugs ) ☹️💯👎 FALSE ❗❗ 🙂💯👍 Now for the TRUTH Jeremiah mocked the idolatry of Judah, especially as it imitated the idolatry of the surrounding nations. Similar passages mocking the idolatry of the heathen are found in Isaiah 40:18-20 and 44:9-20. Yet, it’s difficult to read this description and condemnation of an ancient pagan custom and 👉👉 not immediately think of the custom of the Christmas tree as practiced in the modern Christian world ii. based on a passage like this a Christian would be convinced that they should not have a Christmas tree or even celebrate Christmas, then they should stand in that conviction. It is good to remember what Paul wrote: whatever is not from faith is sin (Romans 14:23). iii. Nevertheless, there are many reasons to believe that despite some similarities, the differences are even greater and 👉👉 do not prohibit the modern custom of the Christmas tree. · Jeremiah spoke regarding the customs of the Gentiles, and in the modern world 👉👉 the appropriate celebration of Christmas is an expression of belief in God and His Son, not a custom of unbelievers · Jeremiah spoke of believers borrowing customs of unbelievers; in the modern world, when an unbeliever has a Christmas tree 👉👉 it is a case of unbelievers borrowing the customs of believers · Jeremiah spoke of a tree regarded as an idol, and (properly understood) the modern Christmas tree is 👉👉 🚫 NOT an idol. If for a family it is or becomes an idol, it should be discarded with. · Jeremiah spoke to a time in history when trees were often directly connected with idolatry, either literal trees or their representations (Jeremiah 2:27) Germany is credited with starting the Christmas tree tradition as we now know it in the 16th century when devout Christians brought decorated trees into their homes 🤔🤔🤪🤪 does anybody know of anybody that's bowed down to a Christmas tree thereby committing idolatry ❓❓ of course not that's just plain SILLY 🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🙂😉 trying to use Jeremiah 10 as a pro theological argument to denounce Christmas trees as pagan practices makes as about as much sense as the Quakers who don't use electricity because they think in some way shape or form that modern technology is evil 💡🙈🙉🙊 🙂🙂 a lot of us love quaker oats for breakfast in the morning 🥣 and the good old electric powered microwave helps us do it and likewise with our Christmas trees that help us appreciate the birth of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ this time of year -- I'm sure most of you will agree 🙂💯👍 Post Reply

They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not " It's true that this verse does not refer to "Christmas" trees. But Christmas is a vain custom that the whole world loves. The early Christians never practiced this pagan custom. Whatever is highly esteemed among men is an abomination to God. In order to force the original meaning of the Jeremiah passage into this era, Dom must equivocate, (ambiguously alter meaning mid-argument), to make the passage apply to modern Christmas trees. Nothing in the birth of Jesus as that was just a fulfillment of the prophets of the old testament. Jesus was born to die Isaiah 53 tells us this. The Jesus that was born of Mary is dead gone and buried. We know Jesus no more after the flesh 2nd Cor 5:16-17.The one that came out of the grave and arose from the dead by the power of God his Father is the one we are to attain. John 3:6 Jesus told Nicodemus what is flesh is flesh and what is spirit is spirit. Jesus had to be born again of the spirit Romans 8:11-12 tells us that same spirit that arose Jesus from the dead be in you. Spirit if who? God and Father of Jesus. Post Reply

The apostle Paul taught us that he was told one thing to teach the death of Christ in 1st Cor 11:23. Paul preached Jesus Christ and him crucified 1st Cor 2:2 and he taught in Romans 6 we are to be like Jesus dead unto sin and buried and baptized unto the death of Christ and nothing about the birth. The birth of Jesus was no birth to remember as Herald killed all the children 2 years old and younger. Trick of the devil to make you remember the wrong thing. A good name is better then precious ointment and the day of ones death is better then ones birth. The death of Jesus brought me joy not the birth. We can't celebrate the birth anyhow as Jesus came down from above there is no date for him. Jesus was always, the only thing that happened when Christ was born was a state of confusion as Jesus became a rock of offense and a stumbling stone to those who disobey his words 1st Peter 2:8. When you do not receive the love of the truth every word if the bible God will give you a strong delusion to believe a lie to be d---ed with because of pleasure in unrighteousness. Christmess is a pleasure in unrighteousness making the preacher's pocketbook and belly full and your belly full and pocketbook empty while your soul stays empty of the flesh and blood of Jesus' words. The bible preaches to come out from among them and not stay in these abominable churches who are perverts of the Gospel of Christ taking you for the ride to hell fire and brimstone with them until you hit the pit of hell. 2nd Cor 6:13] Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged. [14] Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? [15] And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? [16] And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jeremiah 10 is giving us a commandment "Learn not" just like Jesus gave us commandments "sin not" The key words are, "Learn not" which means don't do. Do you drive into a highway going the wrong way despite the signs says, "Do Not Enter" key words are "Do Not" and Christianity of the hoyr are going 1000 mph down the wrong way all for the pocketbook. Jeremiah 10:2] Thus saith the LORD,--> Learn not<--- the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. [3] For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. [4] They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. [5] They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. Nobody sayin’ Jesus was born under a Christmas tree. Nobody sayin’ EVERYBODY has to celebrate Christ on a formerly pagan holiday.
