Generally run down in say North American English is to run them over with a vehicle or at rare times, to run after as in chase them down. Which do you mean? - Put down (insult)? - Berate? - Chastise? - Belittle? - Scorn? - Scold? - Deride? - Criticize? - Diminish? - Undervalue? - Underrate? - Sneer? - Scoff? - Scorn? To speak negative about the person example, saying they are not a Christian ( Believer) in Jesus Christ. Trying to discredit the person as a follower of Jesus. If an individual agrees with False doctrine, they don't know Jesus as their personal Savior. Post Reply

Christians are capable of and of course some will do this but it does not mean we should. To say someone isn't a true Christian because they have done this is not up for you or me to decide but we will know them by their fruits. A Christian is a follower of The Way of Christ. There is only one Way of Christ. How many denominations are there? That is, how many deviations from The Way are there? Plenty, too many even as all deviations from The Way are the divisions of man. A Lutheran and a Baptist will both assure you they are correct. There's an old saying: It's easier to fool a person than to convince that person they have been fooled. You bring up false doctrine and you say it well yet how many people are convinced they are correct in their assertions, assumptions and understanding? A Presbyterian and a Catholic cannot both be right; it's impossible. And it is impossible for you or I or anyone else to say that none of them will make it to Heaven. You're right, we cannot and should not put down our brothers and sisters, and we find beauty in the simple lesson from Paul to the Ephesians: Ephesians 4:29: "29 Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear." I really like how you post Moonlight, thank you PS before going too far with this, take note of the times both John the Baptizer and Jesus our Lord calling the Pharisees "Broods of Vipers". This is the same as saying that the Pharisees had "Satanic qualities". It does not get much more negative than this. This was clearly done in an effort to get them to repent. Did it work? For some yes, for others, well, their hearts were so far from God the answer is no because they never repented. Post Reply

Salvation is not about any denomination. It is about knowing Jesus as your your personal Savior, a relationship with Jesus. Too many people think that belonging to a church and attending often, Or sometimes makes you a Christian. We are to study the Bible and be obedient to the Scripture. A Believer can know a man by his fruit. Post Reply

What does 'negative' mean, i understand that to be an electrical term, and a science term. Negative battery post, negative electrical side of an outlet, or in science a neutron. Post Reply
