It's interesting how in the Bible the word wax can mean growing in strength or waning in weakness we can see from the verse below that because of King David's faith and obedience King David's " spiritual muscles " if you will pardon the pun BEE--RATE Saul into a 98 lb weakling
2 Samuel 3:1
Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker
Time was working in David’s favour, partly, doubtless, on account of Ish-bosheth’s manifest incompetence, partly from a growing appreciation of the character and prowess of David, and a fuller realisation that he was the divinely appointed sovereign. In 1Chronicles 12:19-22 there is an account of an important accession to David from the tribe of Manasseh on the eve of Saul’s last battle, and a further mention of continued accessions to him “day by day.” As the necessary result of this constant transference of strength to David, “the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.”
In the 1984 hit movie The karate kid waxing techniques were secretly teaching his muscles karate moves, and when the karate lessons actually began, he found it relatively easy to learn. ... "Wax on, wax off" was one of the stern instructions repeated at the beginning of the lessons which ultimately led to a Daniel LaRusso karate championship
God's Word says in Ephesians 6:10, “Be strong in the Lord” and encourages us not to lose heart if your Spiritual muscles have atrophied don't worry they can be retrained with reading the bible daily

Less of a persons own thoughts, more of God's.
To stand before Christ is to have DONE ALL, this is the WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD AGAINST THE DEVIL..
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
To pray always to be accounted worthy by Christ, or hear the devil who tells us we are worthy only when we do its lies and self seeking..
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
