The summing up of faith, and the summing up of works.
Abraham through the righteousness of faith, believes the promises of God....
Romans 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Abraham received the sign of circumcision a seal of the righteousness of faith, and to them that walk in the steps of that faith of Abraham..
Romans 4:9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.
10 How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.
11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:
12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.
Abraham obeys the request of God, God also has us to obey Him as Abraham did...
James 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
The grace of Gods calls us as He did with Abraham, God ordained Abraham to the sign of the seal of circumcision, and to obedience to make faith perfect as James tells us.
In the times past the Gentiles are known as the uncircumcision, by those of the circumcision made by hands.
Now we have access by the one Spirit into the grace of Christ.
The sign of the seal of righteousness of circumcision is passed onto all them that believe as Abraham believed in God, to circumcise us with the circumcision made without hands, putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ..
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh MADE BY HANDS;
Ephesians 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Colossians 2:10 And YE ARE COMPLETE IN HIM, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision MADE WITHOUT HANDS, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
The law is the knowledge of sin, ( makes us guilty of sin and then death ) the knowledge of Christ is to justify us by bearing our iniquities...
Isaiah 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: BY HIS KNOWLEDGE shall my righteous servant justify many; for HE SHALL BEAR THEIR INIQUITIES.
Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
The conclusion is man is justified by faith, without the deeds of the law ( the law of sin and death) which establishes the law..
Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
The doers then of the law are JUSTIFIED, showing the work of the law written in the heart ( by the circumcision of Christ which is receiving the sign of the seal of the righteousness of faith )
Romans 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
We are justified by the faith of Christ, and while seeking to be justified by Christ, we do not make ourselves be transgressors, being dead to the law, to live unto God, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ, has freed us from the law of sin and death..
Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Galatians 2:17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
Galatians 2:18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Being justified by grace, and being careful to MAINTAIN good works, is to believe in being justified by the KNOWLEDGE OF THE ON OF GOD, which is not only to believe in His word, but to do it, without being alive to the law of sin and death, dead to sin, and to obey God in the Holiness of the circumcision of Christ, which shows the work of the law of Christ written in us, the perfect measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ and we are COMPLETE IN HIM..
Titus 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
