as for the phrase to rule the night in Genesis 1:16, this is an idiomatic expression that simply means the moon is the dominant nocturnal luminary. The fact that the moon is sometimes visible in the daytime sky in no way negates the fact that it dominates the nighttime sky.

The Bible’s description of the moon as the “lesser light” is not meant to classify the moon as a light source similar to the sun. The language is an accurate description of the comparative luminosity of the moon and the sun. The meaning is that moonlight as it reaches the earth is less bright than sunlight, a fact that we all acknowledge.

We do not require the weatherman on TV to use scientifically precise terminology when chatting about the forecast—we do not get confused if he mentions a “sunrise” or “sunset,” even though those are not the technical terms for what’s actually happening in the solar system. We are comfortable with the use of phenomenological language, and we should be able to recognize it in Scripture. God communicated to humanity in a way we could understand and appreciate. The moon does shine, albeit with reflected light, so it is entirely appropriate for the Bible to speak of the moon as a “light.”

Men over 50 who never married has a much bigger chance of getting married than a woman over 50 who NEVER have been married.

Just a bit of Light 🚨

The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable, But the mouth of food spouts folly.

If you have nothing to add about the subject, then move along to a place on the forum for your subject about 'divorce' you know so much about as a little gatekeeper! GEESH, were not discussing 'LIGHT' as far as dating relationships here on biblical part of the forum, OK!!!???

Rsvp, how is it you have the GALL to say CREATION of the earth and its celestial objects are not literal in description. I mean be for real, you started a thread once before on this and here you are posting the same thing!

Lets let the BIBLE tell you about CREATION, OK? Stop with your atheist secular school teachings for a spell and lets discuss this, shall we?

If YHWH said he made TWO GREAT LIGHTS, then who are you to insult Him by calling His CREATION a 'idiomatic' there college boy!?

When looking at Creation week in chapter one, we see the earth existed in rough made (without form and void, verses 1,2) before day one and probably the sun and moon (maybe) also but only the sun was lit on day one of Creation week, that we know, singular light verses 3-5, correct? Why is that? Because the moon was dark, new moon, start of first CREATION moonth (where we get the definition today of 'month' because it comes from the word moon, right?) of time as we know it. The sun tells you when a DAY begins and ends and the moon tells you when a MOONTH begins and ends. Correct? They both have their own purpose made by YHWH, would you agree with that? Since they are separate for a purpose, would they not make their own light?

Its an easy test I told you to do before but you did not answer my post before??? There will be a full moon in coming days, or even close to one is all you need to do the REAL SCIENCE test, You need a temp probe gun or large thermometer. test direct moonlight (no not the silly confused woman and gatekeeper on this forum! LOL! ) on object for temperature, then in shade from the moonlight and EVERYTIME you will find that in direct moonlight its COLDER LIGHT and in the shade its WARMER! This baffles every atheist friend of David's that he hangs out with, LOL ! They actually scratch their heads and some get mad when you question their beliefs or obsessed with the Creation like David is on this forum! Some like David distract with cartoons like mermaids and unicorns etc etc! LMBO!

So are you going to try the experiment rsvp, maybe this PAGAN weekend or continue to put your head in the sand (school books) of indoctrination and by the media, like David does?

Flat Earth TeddyBug’s posts which consist mostly of unintelligible nonsensical gibberish are laughable except for the very sad fact the TeddyBug actually believes such nonsense. His post continue to demonstrate the futility and foolishness of false belief.

Unfortunately TeddyBug doesn’t possess the intellectual discipline necessary to grasp what RSVP actually wrote about.

Worse yet, the TeddyBug, who often lies about and exaggerates other poster’s comments is at least being consistent with who he is
