And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
Is the rich, rich toward God ?
How can the rich beware of coveteousness, because we see in the parable the rich mans only concern is to make himself richer. He has no concern for anybody else, which is that way of God to deny ourselves to be for the Kingdom of Heavens sake, which is for another's welfare.......
Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
The life is more than meat then, but somehow peoples only imagination is in food, and themselves, and did not learn the life is more than what you eat or what you cloth yourself with, or as the rich man, anything you concern yourself in..
Luke 12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
Stop fearing for ourselves is the message then, to give instead of take, it is to be blessed, to have a heart that is giving, not taking and thinking for itself, and the rich man has his self concern treasure here, but where is your heart?
Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Not preparing ourselves in all the preparations Christ has told to us, means many punishments, and when we receive few stripes, we know the end of the rich man hardly gets into the Kingdom of God..
Luke 12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
How important it is to judge what is right, the adversary is the devil, who tempts us away from judging and doing what is right ( that is satans job after all is it not ?) and we are delivered directly to hell not for suffering as Christ suffered, but by being anti Christ, to enjoy the pleasures of sin for our season..
Luke 12:57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

Adam, let me help. The rich aren’t faulted just because they are rich. Job was rich and so where many of the patriarchs.
The rich become guilty when they neglect their duty to honor God with their wealth
And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

Yes, Job was wealthy, Solomon wealthy too, but did Christ not say a greater than Solomon here for us to follow ?
Matthew 12:42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
Our King comes meek lowly on a donkey, very different to Solomon as much as can be in richness, now to nowhere to lay His head.
But then again, that is why we have a new covenant, as the first one was with fault, and that change of richness not only is for Christ, all the Apostles followed which way ?
Mark 10:28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
It does not leave us much examples left in the new testament to follow, you know Paul having all goods spoiled to win Christ, I do not recall the example of retaining riches and that showing it is the way of the narrow path to eternal life, do you remember some David?
Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
Hebrews 10:34 For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

Adam, you’re trying to make a false idea better, it’s not working sorry.
The rich in the New Testament are encouraged to help the poor not become poor.
You probably missed that verse too. Not surprising
And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

The rich are encouraged, or warned as they are on the wrong path:
1 Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
