This applies to every area of life, including our financial resources. As God's provisions flows in to bless us, He wants us to extend the blessing to those who are in need. Similarly, a lot of people are figuratively "dead" in that they only like to receive, and not give. "I have shewed you all things, how that so laboring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."
