How easy is divorcing your spouse to you?

Praise the LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST and peace be unto the saints of the Most HIGH GOD.

Beloved as we are living in a world/culture where getting divorced seems to be "the thing to do", the new fad so to speak, we as believers in CHRIST are called to a much higher standard.

We are not just to run away from our mate and our marriage covenant which we made before the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, when things get a little tough in our marriage.

GOD gave only one way out of your marriage if you are a saved person married to another saved person; and that way out is Fornication (your mate has sexually defiled his/herself with another). Matt 19:9

Marriages will be tested, that's evident; but as Soldiers of CHRIST, we aught to love GOD and our mate enough to hang in there and fight :boxing: for our marriage; Not allowing anything at all to separate that which GOD has joined together. Matt 19:6

GOD hates it when HIS people Divorce one another (Mal 2:16) and we should hate it too.

It grieves me to see Professing Christians getting Divorced for reasons unjustifiable before GOD, calling themselves Leaning on the LORD'S forgiveness. Yet the spouse they are divorcing they have not forgiven.

But isn't forgiving others a Must in Order for GOD to forgive us? Yes it most certainly is. (Matt 6:14-15).

And since we must be forgiven to enter the Kingdom of GOD, we should be very careful to hold no grudges. (James 5:9)

What ever happened to unconditional Love, compassion, longsuffering, mercy, and all of those good things that Keeps couples together when the going gets tough?

Could it be that our hearts long for the greener Grass on the other side? :hearts:

Do we not consider that Divorcing and remarrying causes us to be in adultery, if that divorce isn't justifiable before GOD; and that adulterers won't inherit the Kingdom of GOD? I Cor 6:9-10

Now the things I've spoken has to do with to Christians being married to each other. If a Christian is married to an unbeliever that is a different story. While we are not commanded of the LORD to remain with unbelievers, we are encouraged by the Apostle Paul to remain with such if the unbeliever is pleased to dwell with us, because we can win the sinner to CHRIST.

I Cor 7:12-16

But beloved if you truly say that you love GOD, then please let not divorce be an option for you unless it is truly justifiable before GOD; and even then you can still choose to stay (esp if it's safe for your spirit, soul, and body).

In the love of CHRIST,

Thaddeus

I liked this post and your thoughts, I wish everyone could follow Christs teachings on this subject. Many times our personal reasons and priorities come first and so it happens with many. Besides as humans we all commit mistakes, so God forgives, but I'm just wondering if anyone who's divorced ever sought a reunion with their ex spouse whom they had got divorced from??
