Autism & Down syndrome

Recently, someone asked me how come God's thoughts towards us are of peace, righteousness, joy, and hope; yet, we see autistic ,and down syndrome. How those could fit in the Kingdom of our Lord? What's their gift, or call to serve Him?

I answered through scientific theories that I studied, which ultimately prove that God is good, except that it's our limited abilities to apprehend His wisdom stands in the way sometimes...

I would like to hear your opinion guys, what the Bible says ?

I haven't read any biblical similar cases.

Thanks, God Bless u .

My cousin had a baby born with Down Syndrome about three months ago and as a family we were devastated at first and there were a lot of difficult things going on. I prayed and prayed for the baby while we were waiting for the results, for Jesus to place a healing hand over her, but I know that God made the situation as it is for a good reason. We love this child unconditionally and will deal with whatever we need to as the time comes as this baby needs extra love and support in her life.

I think the reason for Autism & Down Syndrome fit the same purpose as any other issue, challenge, disability, or limitations some people face. The reason that I would like to think, after having this situation come into my life, is that God is teaching us to be more accepting of other people & their differences, teach us more about limitations others face, and just to slow down & really truly appreciate what God gives to us.

I think it will make us stronger in our faith & in our family. At first it was really painful & stressful, but it has become a huge blessing to us. I can't tell you any Bible verses, but just what I have experienced and how it has affected my family & I spiritually. I thank the Lord for this beautiful child. I wouldn't have it any other way.

dear phoebe, best i can remember there was a verse where JESUS told them that the sins of the parents wasnt what caused a young man to be disabled or handicapped in some way... it seems the folks were sayin just that.. but HE corrected em.. its not a form of punishment but yet can be such a blessing... when you can see the love from an innocent child... if you have a child that loves you no matter.. thats got to be the biggest blessing of all. behind your salvation..

You don't need case studies from the bible, just one thing.

We live in a sinful world. Things dont make sense, things hurt, there are people starving, and dying, and everything. Its all a result of adam and eve's sin. the whole world waits for redemption.

While we live here, it's chaotic, uncertain, beyond reason, and just flat out harsh.

It's a sinful world. We were born in it, and to it. But Jesus died for those sins, and to redeem us and all of creation. and that, my dear, will take place, with certainty, in due time.

just watch.
