...God's ultimate will

A lot of people say that God contradicts Himself by Him saying He wants one thing and allows the opposite to happen. Others say that He has priorities, an ultimate Will that overrides everything else.

I've already a guess on this, but, for the sake of not influencing any readers, here's a list of ideas that I have heard (includes Biblical and philosophical notions), but please write what you think it is:

His ULTIMATE Will is...

1) To create.

2) For the death of evil.

3) For others to love Him.

4) That none should perish.

5) That He would be glorified.

6) To watch (not interact with) the world.

7) His ultimate Will...(other).

SISTER PHOENYX, I THINK GODS WILL COMPRISES OF MANY THINGS AND I SUPPORT ALL OF YOUR IDEAS.

IN ADDITION TO YOUR IDEAS, I BELIEVE THAT HIS WILL IS ALSO TO, save those who are eagerly waiting for him. (HEBREWS 9:28)

I ALSO BELIEVE THAT HIS WILL IS TO, transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body. (PHILIPPIANS 3:20-21)

AGAIN, HIS WILL IS ALSO FOR US TO inherit the kingdom that was prepared for us since the creation of the world (MATTHEW 25:34)

I REMEMBER READING A VERSE THAT SAID SOMETHING LIKE, WHEN ALL HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW HIM, THEN HE WILL RETURN. SO HIS ULTIMATE WILL, MAY BE FOR US ALL, EVERY SINGLE HUMAN BEING TO HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNTIY TO KNOW WHO HE WAS, WHO HE IS AND WHO HE IS TO COME, IN ORDER FOR EVERYONE TO BE JUDGED RIGHTEOUSLY. SOMEONE PLEASE DIRECT ME TO THIS VERSE, IM SURE I SAW IT SOMEWHERE.

MY LAST RANDOM THOUGHT, IS THAT, GODS ULTIMATE WILL, MAY BE TO, REVEAL THE PURPOSE BEHIND EVERYTHING.

Well, if I had to say it in a one liner I would say that God's ultimate will is that his name be glorified. We as men were created for his glory, we were created to reflect his image, but when we failed we had to be distanced from God. Yet God did not give up on us, but through his love brought us back to him, and thereby enabling us to still continue giving him the glory. And in whatever he does he has a perfect plan which is beyond our understanding and it will reveal his wisdom. Maybe it does sound selfish but the Bible is clear that we were created for his glory and good pleasure. But it is clear by God's actions that he is much more selfless and loving and anyone of us can imagine.

Isaiah 43:7 very bluntly states why Israel was created. It says, "Everyone who is called by my name, and whom I have created for My glory, whom I have formed, even whom, I have made."

And as a Christian, whatever we do we are to do it in such a way to bring glory to God. "Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Whatever you have put in your list as being his will would all come us this, that through all these his name be glorified..

In Isaiah God says "For My own sake, for My own sake, I will act; for how can My name be profaned? And My glory I will not give to another." So its not by what we wish or want, but God acts as he wants. David said in Psalm 25:11, "For Thy name's sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity, for it is great.".

"Therefore also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is aboe every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:9-11).

well, There are so much more verses which will show that God is passionate about his own name :)

If you are defining His ultimate will as being His ultimate desire/wish, I would like to think it would be that as many people as possible will enter heaven by accepting the salvation of Jesus Christ.

My answer would be all of the above with the exception of 6. No. 6 really reminds me of Baal in 1Kgs. 18.
