FREEWILL TO REPENT ? OR, "But after THY HARDNESS AND IMPENITENT HEART TREASUREST UP UNTO THYSELF WRATH against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God"

I noticed people are confused about the Gospel, and how both John the baptist and Christ preach repentance to Israel.

Firstly, see, how John baptist is preparing the way of the Lord..

Matthew 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Next, we see that for Pharisees, they need to be WARNED further, how unless they bring GOOD FRUIT, they will be cut down and cast into the fire....

Matthew 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Now we know that is the preparation of John baptist for the way to Christ., and we know Christ also was prepared, anointed of the Holy Ghost. John baptist bares record that the Spirit remaining on Christ, reveals this is God who baptizes with the Holy Ghost.

Andrew hears John baptist speak and goes and tells Simon Peter his brother..

John 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

Jesus confirms to Israel it is He who is anointed with the Spirit of the Lord, anointed to preach the Gospel and recovering of sight.

2 Corinthians 1:21, we also are anointed by God to be stablished in Christ..

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

2 Corinthians 1:21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

Matthew 4, shows how the lands of Israel (the people) are in darkness, and Christ, the great light shined to them.

Then Jesus begins to preach to the people, to repent, saying the Kingdom of Heaven is here.

Jesus continuing what John baptist had done showing to Andrew, and Andrew to Simon Peter, now calls Simon Peter, they being called leave their nets, following Jesus, and Christ preaches the Gospel and heals all sicknesses.

Joel 2 speaks about these days when the Spirit will be given, and deliverance to the REMNANT, whom the Lord SHALL CALL.

Acts 2 and Peter is telling the people of Israel to repent, and ( to the (remnant) as many as gladly received the word, were baptized..

Joel 2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Matthew 4:15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;

16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.

21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.

22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Before this, in Matthew 13, the disciples were told by Jesus, how Israel were not given to understand the mysteries of Heaven, but the Apostles were given by Christ to know.

It was foretold in Isaias how the people have no eyes to see with, which prevents them from being converted and having their sins forgiven..

Matthew 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

Jesus in Matthew 15 now, continues to explain how the Pharisees are not those plants/trees, to produce good fruit ( and remember every tree that fails to produce good fruit cast into the fire) because they have no eyes given to them to see with, and are left as blind leaders of the blind..

Matthew 15:12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Jesus again, explains how the Apostles did not choose Him, but He chose them and ordained them ( anointed them) to go and bring forth fruit, because Jesus has made known to them all things of the Father.

Mark 16, shows how the Apostles go forth preaching as the Lord is working with them with signs following..

John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Onto Acts 3, and the preaching of repentance.

The Apostles tell Israel, every soul who cannot hear that Prophet, will be destroyed ( every tree not producing good fruit cast into the fire)

God sent Christ first to bless the people of Israel , the children of the prophets, by the Gospel of turning them away from their iniquities..

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Acts 3:23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

But the people of Israel are also told in Acts 13 by Apostle Paul, of what was spoken in the prophets, ( who they killed) the despisers will perish, a work will be done in their days which they will not believe though declared by Christ ( that Prophet)...

Acts 13:40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;

41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

Israel was full of envy contradicting and blaspheming, but now Paul tells them how God spoke first to them, and they ( as despisers and with blind eyes) put it from them, and the Apostle now turns to the Gentiles who will hear when given ears to hear, * as many as are ordained/anointed by God can hear and see)..

Acts 13:45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Now Apostle Paul from the Lord, sums up for us that situation of Israel not hearing or seeing.

Israel is in unbelief, and the Gentiles are granted ( yes granted ) repentance unto life.

If the Gentiles continue in that goodness of God that leads us to repentance, goodness, otherwise cut off ( for not producing good fruit the trees are cut off and cast into the fire)...

Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Romans 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Further explaining this blindness on Israel. All Israel shall be saved, this is the covenant God made to take away our sins...

Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

Need to go back to Romans 9 now, to know they are not all Israel, which are of Israel. The children of the flesh, are not the children of God, but all the children of God shall be saved..

Romans 9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Romans 9 goes on to explain, God chooses whom He pleases, mercy to some, hardening to others, this is Gods grace, His mercy, not of anyone's will, it is the Lords will, and Israel is blind because all are blind unless called by God and given eyes to see with and understanding to know and believe with..

Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Now we go back to the Gospel, and Jesus makes clear, who is the calling of the Lord.

Not those who call themselves, but only those given the way by Christ, all who try to enter without being called by Christ are thieves and robbers..

John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Matthew 22:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Matthew 20, now makes this even clearer for all. The ones not called by Christ, murmur and complain.

Jesus also has made it impossible for anyone to find their way to God without God calling them ( the Shepherd calling His own sheep by name ) because this world teaches to be first, not to make yourself last.

Also many are called, but few are CHOSEN..

Matthew 20:11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,

12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.

13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?

14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.

15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?

16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

I said Matthew 20 made all clear, because of revealing how ALL THE NON CHOSEN ( most in this world) are COMPLAINERS AND MURMURED at Christ.

Jude 1 shows them again, these are murmurers, complainers, mockers in the LAST TIMES, remember the words and warning for us from all Apostles about this same vanity speaking ungodly LUST following deceivers..

Jude 1:16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

Yes be mindful of all these revealings, the warnings from the Apostles, the scoffers come in these LAST DAYS, walking after their own LUSTS, who not only do not show the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, they are the same contradicting blasphemers..

2 Peter 3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
