When someone appeals to God and seeks forgiveness in Jesus, his sins are forgiven. He is cleansed. His relationship with God is restored, and he is made a new creature (2 Cor. 5:17). All of this is the work of God and not of man. Salvation is a free gift (Rom. 6:23). We are saved from damnation. When anyone sins, and we all have (Rom. 3:23, 6:23), he deserves eternal separation from God (Isaiah 59:2). Yet, because of His love and mercy, God became a man (John 1:1, 14) and bore the sins of the world in His body on the cross (1 Pet. 2:24, 1 John 2:2). We are forgiven when we realize that there is nothing we can do to earn the favor of God and we put our trust in what Jesus did for us on the cross (Eph. 2:8-9, 1 Cor. 15:1-4). Only God saves. The only thing we bring to the cross is our sin. Both God the Father (Isaiah 14:21) and Jesus (John 4:42) are called Savior, that is, the deliverer from sin. The words begin earlier then, how we must labour to be accepted of Him, because we are told how we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. To receive what we have done, whether good or bad... 2 Corinthians 5:9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Down to the restoring with God and the new creature. Knowing nothing to do with man after the flesh any longer, is when there is a new creature, when all things are of God and are truly new.. 2 Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Salvation is a free gift, to those who stop receiving their gift of sin, their pleasures, their elf seeking, their coveting, their fornications, their envies, as those things are shameful, what conscience do we have gifted to us if we continue in them and see no wrong in it ? Romans 6:21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. The Lord cannot save people that do iniquities, as the transgressions testify against them, as this is man departing away from God, to speak revolt and concieve words of falsehood.. Isaiah 59: 1 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them; 13 In transgressing and lying against the Lord, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. Also then there is no light, only darkness, the people are blind without having eyes to see with given.. Isaiah 59:9 Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness. 10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon day as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men. Then that lines up with Romans 3:11-18, there is none that understands out of the whole world, none seek after God, none do good, all are unprofitable, they know no peace, there is no fear of God before anyone's eyes. As here the same in Isaiah 59:16-20, God testifies there is no man, so God brings salvation by His own arm, Christ putting on the helmet of salvation, and the garments of zeal as a cloak. According to our deeds He will repay, so the ones He calls will fear the Lord, and the devil( the enemy) will be resisted by the Spirit of the Lord in us, who also put on the helmet of salvation, Ephesians 6:17, 1 Thessalonians 5:8. This is the message to those who turn from transgression to their redeemer.. Isaiah 59:16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. 17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak. 18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence. 19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. 20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord. Romans 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Romans 3:17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes. You are quickened, who walked in the time past in tresspasses and sins. That is the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience, according to this world. Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: So the ones quickened were dead in sins, but were raised up away from that death and those sins to sit together with Christ in His Heavenly places in Christ.. Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: Then the ones as our examples are quickened, who by that grace of God labour abundantly.. 1 Corinthians 15:9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. Also the Apostle Paul appeals to us to not hear evil communications. To awake to righteousness and to sin not, as this is the knowledge of God with no shame.. 1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. Continuing on who is quickened, it is not the first Adam, it is the last Adam who is one with the Lord from Heaven. As the first man is of the earth earthly, which is devilish.. 1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven. Umm RSVP, is there a reason you leave out first the definition of WHAT 'sin' is, therefore Who the sinner is? You can just generalize that a 'sinner' is NOT righteous all day long, even until the cows come home and he or she is still 'sinning' but you have not identified WHAT 'sin' is nor WHO the 'sinner' is by Bible definition??? Correct? Also you claim correctly that 2 Cor. 5:17 teaches that >after< repentance and while we are 'in Christ' old things are passed away, all things become new' to His saints! Sooooo its clear they are not sinning or are NOT continuing to live in sin everyday as LittleDavid and Quiznos teach and have teached for moonths now. Its simply a false doctrine THEN, that they cannot show by the Bible that saints keep sinning everyday like pink energizer bunnies. Correct? You clearly add to that truth also that saints have POWER from above to be 'delivered from sin' when you wrote - 'Both God the Father (Isaiah 14:21) and Jesus (John 4:42) are called Savior, that is, the >>>deliverer from sin.<<< Is that correct in what you are saying?
