God is not ashamed to assume full responsibility for what happens on earth. But that’s very difficult for humans to reason through, just ask Job !!! Job wanted a day in court with God—and he got it!! AND it wasn’t pretty. To make a short story shorter, Job “put his hand on his mouth” and was silenced. Job never knew about the conversation between God and Satan. Simply put, Job came to understand that God does exactly as he pleases and he’s not accountable to any kind of human tribunal. Post Reply

God gave David three things to choose from, and David asked God not to let him fall into the hands of Man. The other two choices was 7 years of famine and three days of pestilence in the Land. The words describe what is revealed here, how the Lords mercies are great. Just because it is written how both satan and the Lord God moved David, people think they found something interesting to catch on. The Spirit searches the deeper things of God... 1 Corinthians 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. Even though seventy men of Israel are destroyed by the Lords pestilances, what is taught to man is the Lords mercies. As the angel of the Lords hand is ready to destroy Jerusalem entirely, the Lord says it is enough. This also demonstrates for all the people ( here and the world) how they are in grave danger by not fearing the Lord God.. 2 Samuel 24:14 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the Lord; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man. 15 So the Lord sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men. 16 And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the Lord was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite. If David who is in the lineage to Christ for the everlasting kingdom makes a mistake to anger the Lord, and David has the Spirit of God in him, then all Israel with no Spirit of God in them are destroyed as seen here, as people who take up the sword to fight, and who are not led by the Spirit of God within them, are going to die in the same way.. Posted : 12 Dec, 2020 10:10 AM Note that the New American Standard Bible says “it” (the anger of the Lord) is what caused David to take the census. The other translations say “he” (the Lord) did the inciting. The reason for the differences in translation is that, in the original language, there is no subject for the verb incited. The fact is we aren’t told who exactly moved David to take the census. To translate the verse literally, we would say, “There was who moved David against them” or “For one moved David against them.” The translations above have taken this to mean it was either God or His anger that caused David to take the census. Posted : 13 Dec, 2020 04:34 PM The trouble with a lot of Christians is an unbiblical denial of God’s sovereignty as taught in scripture. Too many Christians keep trying to get God of the hook for certain bad things that take place on earth. Some unbelievers and believers alike shy away from the idea that God is totally charge. But all through out the Bible, God is not ashamed to assert his sovereignty over everything. So. Either we believe in the sovereignty of man, sin or the devil or we believe in the sovereignty of God. Many Christians prefer belief in the sovereignty of man or who knows whatever else Post Reply
