LittleDavid View Profile History	Trying to Understand Posted : 28 Nov, 2020 04:15 PM After reflecting on some of the bad teachings hosted on the forums like KJV Onlyism, Flat Earth mythology and sinless perfectionism, I’ve tried to form a personal perspective to better understand those ensnared by these false teachings. For example, Teddyhug believes he’s strictly in line with the Bible when he believes in a flat earth because he’s been told the Bible makes use of specific language describing the heavens, heavenly bodies and geological features. He thinks the right path to understanding the Bible is strict literalism—some call that approach “wooden literalism”. Strict literalism sticks with a words definition without regard to context. But strict literalism actually misses the literal meaning of scripture. For example, when Jesus says you must “hate” your parents, he obviously doesn’t mean to literally hate them. However, the strict wooden approach to literalism might suggest that. The truth is, the Bible often makes use of figurative language. That’s why understanding context is important Post Reply

Adam nor I have never said we was sinless, we are ONLY claiming the promises of the Bible that CLEARLY says the saints WILL be sinless! 1 John 3-10! Flat Teddythugs, the only way flat earth fringe kooks like yourself think the Bible teaches flat earth is by your fallacious application of strict literalism!!!!! Kook fringe flat earthers like you can find absolutely NO verses in the Bible that teach a flat earth so you cut and paste verses, apply strict literalism and force them to say what you want. Flat Earth Teddy, if you reread what I posted, I didn’t accuse you of “saying” anything. All I said was you “think”. Teddy, look at me now—you took me literal!! Case closed. I said you “think” because that’s how you obviously interpret the Bible based on your silly posts!! Flat Teddy, the only way you can believe in flat earth mythology and sinless perfectionism is by HYPER-literalism, that’s about the same thing as strict literalism Teddy. Case in point—you interpreted the word “think” into “saying” something. Thus you believe I accused you of “saying” something Teddy, let me help you, when I say you “think” something, I’m not pretending to know what you think—I’m not even accusing you of being able to think !!! Marcouse View Profile History	Trying to Understand Posted : 2 Dec, 2020 01:26 PM I was under the impression the Bible does not state the shape of the Earth. I'd say it is not a globe, probably flat in places but as a general person I can't say for sure. Not that it matters in the scheme of things the whole point of the flat earth movement is that we are lied too. We are pretty much lied to about everything, once you realize that it doesn't matter what the shape of the earth is. Post Reply
