MORE TERRIFY THAN AN EARTHY HORROR FLICK, THE WORDS OF JESUS TO FAKE RELIGIOUS FOLK

Luke13:22Then Jesus traveled throughout the towns and villages, teaching as He made His way toward >>>Jerusalem<<<. 23“Lord,” someone asked Him, >>>“will only a few people be saved?”<<<
Jesus answered, 24 >>>“Make every effort<<< to enter through the >>>narrow door<<<. For >>>many<<<, I tell you, >>>will try<<< to enter and will >>>not be able<<<. 25After the master of the house gets up and >>>shuts the door<<<, >>>you will stand outside knocking<<< and saying, ‘Lord, open the door for us.’
But he will reply, >>>‘I do not know where you are from.’<<<
26Then >>>you<<< will say, >>>‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’<<<
27And he will answer, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from. >>>Depart from me<<<, all >>>you evildoers.’<<<
28There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth >>>when you see<<< Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but >>>you yourselves are thrown out<<<. 29People (Gentiles) will come from east and west and north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God. 30And indeed, some who are >>>last will be first,<<< and some who are >>>first will be last.”<<<
Jesus speaking to deceived Jews who hung around with him and followed him about.
They ate with him, they listened to him teach.
Jesus healed some of them.
Some of them were even numbered among his disciples.
How terrifying to believe you’re truly saved, looking forward to heaven, only to find yourself locked out as you peer inside to see Abraham and the prophets already in the kingdom and you left out.
These verses stop me in my tracks.
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you >>>fail the test?<<<
Any ideas about the “test” Paul speaks about?
What does Jesus mean when he says: ”Make every effort to enter through the narrow door?”
Some people think they are believers just because the “hang out with Jesus” and go to Bible studies but have never repented of practicing evil?
Some people think they are good people for hanging around Jesus and for going to church. They cling to their own “righteousness”.
What is the narrow door?
If you don’t understand the words and warning of Jesus here, is it because you’re like the Jews who thought they were loaded with self-righteous and the pride of good works?
Some false believers will even try to list all their good works at the judgment before being sent to hell. Mathew7:22Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’
