God's calling

I know there are a few christians that think that once they are saved God is calling them to do something really big, and that may be true for some, but sometimes I truly believe God calls us to do the little things as well. Little things like going to a restaurant to get a family member of yours something to eat because can't go out and get it themselves, helping someone work on their house or their car, taking the garbage out for somebody, helping them wash dishes, picking something up and giving it back to them after they dropped it, or it could be as simple as saying something nice about someone, telling them you love them or that Jesus loves them, or calling somebody that you haven't talked to for a long time and telling them you miss them. God doesn't always call His children to be preachers or teachers, He can use those little things to bring a blessing to somebody. If He puts something upon your heart to do for somebody, or say to somebody then say it, do it. Don't quench the Holly Spirit. God could even put something on your heart to lead you yourself to a blessing. His ways are not ours. His way is better than our ways. Pray one for another, love one another. Be a light to others, so those that are lost may be led to the rock, the rock called Jesus. Amen. God bless you.

I agree you’re right about most of that, Morgan.

But I want to speak directly to people claiming to get these “calls from God” to do stuff.

Like you said, lots of people are claiming to receive a “call” from God to do something—BUT what does that really mean?

Where’s IS this “call” to do something found in the Bible?

I’m not picking on you Morgan, just those folks always boasting about receiving a direct “call from God” to do something or go somewhere.

It seems these “called” people are trying to force an apostolic complex on themselves as if scripture just isn’t sufficient on the matter of Christian living.

Perhaps these “called” people ought to read a little more Bible.

But instead of listening to the Bible these people deify a voice from their inner psyche as if it’s a “call” from God.

Let’s stop confusing false calls going off inside our heads for a call from God!

Let’s get back the inspired words of God to guide us. ONLY They (the scriptures) claim to be totally sufficient. SEE 1 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be >>>>>>>complete, fully<<<<<< equipped for every good work.”

Let’s stop fooling ourselves by claiming we’re so special that God actually comes direct to us as if we’re in line to become THE new biblical prophet or THE next apostle—or something else (something else could be just a big nothing but a hot air ballon waiting to get its pride popped)

If anyone reading this has a “pastor“ or “teacher” who claims to “hear voices from God” speaking directly to him—you better find another preacher—like really fast. The voice he hears is probably the god of this world but not the true God
