This topic might be not loved by many lukewarm Christians, but as a God fearing Christian I must to tell the Truth. Mark 10:11-10. Jesus clearly explains when Pharesies asked Him the question about it is lawful for a man to divorce his wife, tempting Him. Also after putting down those hypocrites, the disciples asked Jesus the same question. Jesus replied that divorce and remarriage is adultery. Also it was warned by Jesus in Luke 16:18. Likewise John The Baptist had to do God's duty to warn King Herod Antipas who took Herodias, his alive brother Phillip's wife. John had to warn the king, if he won't put away his unlawful wife and repent, the king was on his road to Hell. So, for this Godly kindness to the king, John was beheaded. If we look at other verses where Jesus disciples like Peter, Paul, and James warn in their Holy Epistles like Hebrews 13:4, 1st Corinthians 6:9-10, James 4:1-7, and so on and on. Yes, those who abide in adulterous remarriages due to divorces will not go to Heaven likewise sodomites, fornicators, drinkers, revelers, idolaters, and other unrepentant sinners who are proud of their sins. Remember, we can't serve tow masters God and Satan. Either we love of of them and hate another. Remarriage in the Bible God indeed allows only on one cause :' to wit : if one of the spouses dies. Death of a spouse frees the surviving spouse from marital oath, till death we part. The surviving spouse has rights to remarriage with God's blessing. Only the new found mate must not be a divorcee. For marriage unto divorces is adultery and a broad road to Hell. The new mate must be or a bachelor ( never married ) or also widowed. Post Reply

Posted : 7 May, 2020 12:03 PM I think it goes deeper than that because there is reconciliation. 2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. So if you divorced as an unbeliever, I believe you are not bound by a previous marriage. Matt 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. If we look at it deeper, we can see God is divorced. Jer 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also. So God divorced from Israel, yet it's still His chosen elect. Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: Israel and Judah are both looked at as "fornicators", and the word "Harlot" is descriptive of them. Really, it's a matter that demands prayer and serious consideration before you decide to marry or remarry. This in itself was one of the problems that happened during the times when the scripture in Matt was spoken. Men were putting away (divorcing) their wives for anything they felt like dismissing them for, so the women were being shamed by them and they would just get a new wife. Post Reply

Posted : 7 May, 2020 01:03 PM Sadly nowadays too many so-called pastors in most mainstream churches perverted the Gospel of Matthew 19:5-9, misunderstanding the knowledge of the Gospel. Unlike Gospels of Mark and Luke, Gospel of Matthew was written to the Jewish believers in Christ. First of all, word fornication is define the tem for never wed people, who practice sexual acts , so-called living together without marriage lock. This term never applied to those who are married. Cheating on the spouse and divorce+remarriage stands for term adultery. I return to Matt 19:9. In Jewish culture there is the custom which before the couple get married under marriage oath, they had the time of espousal, it is part of engagement. If one of the would be spouses finds that one of the spouses commit fornication with another person, the innocent ingage person has put her or him away and brake the espousal (ingage). But if the spouse cheats after the wedding oath, divorce is unlawful and adultery. The same exact story comes with Mary and Joseph as we reed Matthew 2 whole chapter. That's why Matthew wrote this Christ's Gospel to his people Jews. Mark and Luke were gentiles. The gentiles never had Jewish traditions , before marriage of espousal period., so these evangelists wrote these Gospels to their people who had different laws. Sad thing that many so-called Christians nowadays perverted many Biblical verses justifying their sins. For example, so-called LGBT Christians, drinking Christians, etc. Truth is, no one gets to Heaven by living double lives. Christ demands us pure repentance from sins we live in. Jesus warns, unless we repent, we will surely end up in Hell. Luke 13:3. Post Reply

What is the ONLY sin which there is no forgiveness. Without giving up sin for life and turning to Jesus, there won't be forgiveness. For example, if a drinker who believes in Christ, won't repent from drinking alcohol ( to give up for life), Jesus won't forgive him for what he does, and surely this guy will go to Hell. So must those who live in adulterous remarriages. Yes, brake adulterous marriage, depart from each others, than God will forgive you. Post Reply

But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife EXCEPT FOR SEXUAL IMMORALITY!" However it is almost impossible to divorce your wife in the New Covenant according to the words of Jesus who also commanded to forgive your brother or wife 7 times 70 times* or 490 times in Matthew 18:22! I Corinthians 7:12-15: If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife. Otherwise you children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. But if the unbeliever LEAVES, let it be so. The brother or the sister IS NOT BOUND in such circumstances. God has called us to live in peace! The believing husband or wife is then free to marry a believing wife or husband. You can only remarry an unbelieving wife or husband who leaves you if they then become a born from above Christian since Christians are forbidden to marry or remarry unbelievers as per I Corinthians 7:39. Many people blinded by misinterpreting Matthew 19:9. Sexual immorality during the espousal period ( engaging time) not after marriage oath. Again, word fornication is applied to people who are never married. Those who in marriage seal, word fornication is out. Those who are adulterers. Post Reply
