The word Prodigal means SPENDTHRIFT, or one that is a waster of goods.
The Prodigal Son
11And He said, "A man had two sons. 12"The younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the share of the estate that falls to me.' So he divided his wealth between them. 13"And not many days later, the younger son gathered everything together and went on a journey into a distant country, and there he squandered his estate with loose living. 14"Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be impoverished. 15"So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16"And he would have gladly filled his stomach with the pods that the swine were eating, and no one was giving [anything] to him. 17"But when he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have more than enough bread, but I am dying here with hunger! 18I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight; 19I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men."' 20"So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion [for him], and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21"And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' 22"But the father said to his slaves, 'Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet; 23and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate; 24for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.' 25"Now his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing. 26"And he summoned one of the servants and [began] inquiring what these things could be. 27"And he said to him, 'Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has received him back safe and sound.' 28"But he became angry and was not willing to go in; and his father came out and [began] pleading with him. 29"But he answered and said to his father, 'Look! For so many years I have been serving you and I have never neglected a command of yours; and [yet] you have never given me a young goat, so that I might celebrate with my friends; 30but when this son of yours came, who has devoured your wealth with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him.' 31"And he said to him, 'Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. 32But we had to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and [has begun] to live, and [was] lost and has been found.
A certain unnamed man has two sons ( relationship )
neither of the sons names are revealed.
According to the scriptures which of the two sons was the real prodigal
1. Why did you choose the son you had chosen as the prodigal.
2. The son you have chosen, what did he spend or waste that would make him a prodigal.
3. What was the fathers response to the return of the younger son.
4. What was the fathers response to the older son when he spoke harshly to his father.
5. Who are you like in relation to others on this site, the older son,or the Father.
Actually our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ told the holy spirit exactly what to inspire the 8 writers of the New Testament what to write. And so Jesus is the Author of the entire New Testament!!
Acts 26:15-18: Jesus said to Paul, "I have appeared to you as a servant and as a **WITNESS OF WHAT YOU HAVE SEE AND WILL SEE OF ME**. I am sending you to the Gentiles to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive **FORGIVENESS OF SINS ** and a place among those who are **SANCTIFIED BY FAITH IN ME**!!"
Acts 22:14,15: Ananias said to Paul "The God of our ancestors has chosen you to see the Righteous One and to **HEAR WORDS FROM HIS MOUTH**! You will be **HIS WITNESS TO ALL PEOPLE** of what you have seen and heard!!"
John 16:12-14: Jesus says, "I have much more to say to you, more that you can now bear. But when the spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will **GLORIFY ME** because it is **FROM ME**that he will receive **WHAT HE WILL MAKE KNOWN TO YOU!"
Matthew 24:35: Jesus says, Heaven and earth will pass away, but **MY WORDS WILL NEVER PASS AWAY**!"
Hebrews 12:1,2: Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on **JESUS** the **AUTHOR** and **PERFECTER** of our faith!
Matthew 28:18-20: Jesus says, "**ALL AUTHORITY** on heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations... Teaching them to **OBEY EVERYTHING I HAVE COMMANDED!" {WHICH IS EVERY WORD IN THE NEW TESTAMENT**} And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age!"
John 12:48: Jesus says, "There is a Judge for the one who does not accept My words; {Like every word in the NT} the very words I have spoken will **CONDEMN THEM** at the Last Day!"
2 Peter 3:15,16: Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as **OUR DEAR BROTHER PAUL** also wrote to you with the **WISDOM THAT GOD GAVE TO HIM**. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things which are hard to understand {By the unsaved}, which ignorant and unstable people distort {Like Chuckles and Quiznos}, as the do other Scriptures, to their own **DESTRUCTION**! {Eternal torment in Hell}
Revelation 22:16-10: "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony **FOR THE CHURCHES**!.... I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone **ADDS** anything to them, God will add to them the plagues described in this book {Including eternal torment in hell as per Rev 14:9-11} And if anyone **TAKES WORDS AWAY** from this book {Like Chuckles and Quiznos} of prophecy God will take from them any share in the Tree of Life and in the Holy City {The eternal New Jerusalem} which are described in this book!"
And so Chuckles and Quiznos fully qualify for the **UNPARDONABLE SIN** as promised by our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. And since misery loves company they would both love you to join them in Hell!!
Sorry my answers won't fit your questions. Therefore I'll just share my view on this portion of Scripture which is being fulfilled in our day.
The older son is Judah, the younger son Israel. Israel left the Father, squandered their inheritance, became exiled among the nations, becoming like Gentiles and lost forever. (the lost tribes of Israel)
Judah stayed home slavishly following the Fathers commands and then some, but didn't have the same heart as the Father. The Gospel is spread to the ends of the earth. The lost tribes of Israel are hearing it and returning home to the Father. But the older brother Judah (Orthodox Judaism) isn't to happy about it.

No one can come to Me **UNLESS** the Father who sent Me **DRAWS HIM**, and I will raise him up at the Last Day!!... No one can come to Me **UNLESS** the Father has **ENABLED THEM**!!"
Ephesians 2:8,9: For it is by **GRACE** you have been saved, through **FAITH**—and this **NOT FROM YOURSELVES**, it is the **GIFT OF GOD**—not by works. So that no one can boast. For we are **GOD'S WORKMANSHIP**, created in Christ Jesus to do **GOOD WORKS**, which God prepared in advance for us to do!
Romans 12:3: For by the **GRACE GIVEN ME** I say to every one of you. Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourselves with sober judgment, in accordance with the **FAITH GOD HAS DISTRIBUTED TO EACH OF YOU**... We have different gifts, according to the **GRACE GIVEN TO EACH OF US**!!
Romans 9:15,16,18: God says, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God's mercy...Therefore God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden. {But God's saints still preach God's Word to everyone}
John 15:16: Jesus says, You did not choose Me, but I **CHOSE YOU**and appointed you so that you might bear **FRUIT**--**FRUIT** that will last!!
Matthew 22:14: Jesus says, "MANY ARE INVITED**, but few are **CHOSEN**!"
Mar 13:20: Jesus says, "If the Lord had not cut short those days, no on would survive, but for the sake of the **ELECT**, whom He has **CHOSEN, He has shortened them!"

John 13:18: Jesus says, "I am not referring to all of you, I know those I have **CHOSEN**!
Ephesians 1:4-8; 11,12: In love He **PREDESTINED** us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will--to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves, In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding... In Him we were also **CHOSEN**, having been **PREDESTINED** in accordance to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity to the purpose of His will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be to the **PRAISE OF HIS GLORY**!!
I Thessalonians 1:4: For we know, brothers loved by God, that He has **CHOSEN YOU**, because our Gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction!
I Peter 2:9: But you are a **CHOSEN PEOPLE**, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you might declare the praise of Him who **CALLED YOU** out of darkness into His wonderful light!!
Revelation 17:14: They will make war against the **LAMB** but the **LAMB** will overcome them because He is **LORD** of lords and **KING** of kings and with Him will be His **CALLED** **CHOSEN** and **FAITHFUL** followers!! {Riding on white horses right after the Marriage Feast of the **LAMB** as per Revelation 19:7-20!}
Romans 6:23: The wages of sin is death, but the **GIFT OF GOD** is **ETERNAL LIFE**!
God's Word clearly teaches that faith, salvation, the Holy Spirit and eternal life are all 100 percent **FREE GIFTS OF GOD** and that the two main incentives for doing good works is being thankful to God for these amazing **FREE GIFTS** and to **EARN HEAVENLY ETERNAL REWARDS** which God has promised His chosen saints for faithful and loving service. Whereas those who believe in **SINLESS PERFECTION** believe that we have to earn our salvation and eternal life by doing **GOOD WORKS** and being **SINLESS** and that the only eternal reward is gaining eternal life by what we do; and if we commit even one small sin after we are saved we will loose our salvation and eternal life. And so man and not God becomes the Author and Finisher of our salvation.
