Do all Christians think this is wrong?
Posted : 7 Jul, 2009 06:40 PM

i've been struggling with this for two years, and i'm running out of options. no one takes me seriously about this, not even my own parents. but the fact is...i'm BI. people at my church don't even know, and i'm afraid to tell them because i was up front about this at my last church, trying to get help and they shut the door in my face. it started in Juinor year of high school. ask if you want to know how it came to me, but i don't want to make this very long. all i know is i cry out every night because i can't find help. I know God still loves me, but does he view me partially as a failure? ugh, so many questions i have and i'm filled with confusement. does anyone have any advice to offer me? or do y'all automatically hate me now like most do? :(

Is homosexuality a sin? Yes, unequivocally yes in both the old and new testament.

Are you Bi? yes and no. I know, it breaks society's rules to tell you who are but the truth is that even when weighing in science looks into matters of homosexuality, very few women are actually born gay. The rest of you (predominantly white women) fall into emotional traps where your feelings drive your sexuality instead of the other way around.

Forgetting the question of God's love (it's moot really...did Jesus die on the cross? Do sinners go to hell? etc) the question is your statement of faith. Do you put your trust in the Bible or in society? Society has told you to accept being gay, march topless in a parade, and take on a few women to really get the ins and outs of it.

The Bible, however, tells us that sexually amoral persons do not enters the kingdom of heaven, along with blasphemers, liars, thieves, people disrespectful to parents, etc. We're all born with a sin nature, and this side of heaven you will lose to it more often than you conquer it. Every time you learn a new way to master sin, Satan is ready with a new attack.

This doesn't give a Christian an allowance to sin. Paul makes it very clear that we're to crucify our sin nature; and Jesus tells us to daily take up our cross and follow him.

So, let's start with a better question, one I cannot answer for you: are you saved? What is your understanding of how a person comes into adoption as a son or daughter of God?

dear angel, hi young lady.. look i dont hate you but yet love you as a sister in CHRIST.. i cant condone your choice there.. as we both know GOD didnt intend for it to be that way.. not just the fornication before marriage.. but to the same sex relations.. its just wrong girl.. even though we see some states are allowing same sex marriages.. still dont make em right..

now id say you are very young and you may be just goin through an experimental stage in your life. maybe being a little rebellous or looking for that high ,that something different thatll make you feel good for the moment..

but id bet that you only feel good for a moment.. and afterwards you feel alot of guilt dont ya? see cause if youre saved the HOLY SPIRIT will be convicting you of what youve done wrong.. unless you harden your heart to it so much.. that can be a heavy burder to bear... youre lookin for that fix.. that rush you get when doin what you know is wrong to be doin..

my advice to you is this.. turn to the word .. read your bible daily, maybe even multiple times a day.. and pray to GOD to deliver you from these feelings you are having. and turn to the ONE who can give you that high permanantly.. JESUS CHRIST.. HE is the only one who can deliver you from this need.. HES there to help you girl talk to HIM... youve got to stop what youve been doin though in order for you to get closer to HIM.. repent and ask for forgiveness .. and know you will be forgiven.. and then walk right .. and watch what HE can do for you in your life..

know that i will be praying for you as well. to be delivered from all of this.. and if nesecery seek out counsiling..

Unfortunately, not all Christians think that homosexuality, bisexuality or pansexuality is wrong. Personally, I think it should all end with -phile along with heterosexual as it is a desire, just that. Nothing we are born with and science proves this easily--Yes, please, find a gene. For over five years I had the belief that it was okay, but the Bible is very clear on this matter. The Christians I have found that think that homophilia, biphilia and panphilia are okay, are those who think the Bible is corruptible because of man's freewill and God's lack of influence. Their basis is wrong so it's near impossible to change the mentality, especially if they indulge in that lifestyle.

This is coming from a panphile of five or more years (it wasn't something immediate), struggling with it even after becoming a Christian since it was much like an addiction. I can tell you that there are some that would hate you, but Christians should hate the sin and love the sinner. We all fail, but that's no reason to give into sin without a fight. Seek out help and avoid any chance that the sin would stir in your mind. There is a discussion on here concerning it, but I couldn't tell you where off the top of my head. It spoke of lust and how to overcome it. Please check it out. :)

Angel,

Your question 'Do all Christians think this is wrong?' (bi-sexuality)

My answer..If all are true Christians, believing in The Word, and following Christ, the answer would have to be, Yes, this is wrong, the Bible tells us it is.

Romans 1:24 'Therefor God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,

Romans 1:25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.'

Romans 1:26' For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.

Romans 1:27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting.'

Now, as for believers hating you, we are to love one another not hate..

Matthew 22:37, 38, 39

37 Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'

38 "This is the first and great commandment.

39 "And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

I am in agreement with Ole Cattle on all points. But I do have a few questions for you.

Are you seeking help to be freed from your choice of bi-sexuality? Or are you seeking acceptance of your choice of bi-sexuality?

Does the Holy Spirit convict you?

I know God can change us, here in this world, in this time, with all the deceit and acceptance of the things that God despises. As we read the Word, and strive to grow closer to God we see more and more as He does. He will show you, change you day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute as you grow closer to Him. Seek His Truth. That is where your true answer lays.

May you be filled with His Love & Truth. May He Bless you!

you are trying to get help girl, so you must know it is wrong ... ... ... right? otherwise you wouldnt try to get out of this mess in first place! you are on the right path and dont forget: faith can move mountains! He knew you before you were born, He knew this was happening but He also knows that after taking this lil detour you will find your way back!!!!

my dear SIC, i beliefe in the power of prayers and i will pray for you!!!!!! we belong to JC

diana :purpleangel:

o.k. ready or not, here WE come!!!!!!

The Whole Armor of God

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of Gods armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we[c] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore, put on every piece of Gods armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of Gods righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.[d] 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.[e] 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

Hi Angel. I sympathize that no one in your family and church members are not taking you seriously with this struggle of yours.

This is my recommendation. It's simple, but it works. Whenever I get tempted for anything that I know is morally wrong, I simply do the following:

I close my eyes, I picture the good Lord right by my side and say out loud, "In Jesus' Name I rebuke these desires! these feelings! In Jesus' Name I rebuke them!"

Now, I will say it over and over again with strong faith and conviction. Guess what Darling? It works.

By the way, I don't hate you or judge you my sister. If you can for a moment, please imagine me embracing you my sister. Can you feel the Love I have for you? Thnk you for sharing with us. We're all here to help one another. Amen?

Hey Angel

I'm sorry you feel confused right now. I am praying for and with you. God is not the author of confusion - I Cor 14:33. Confusion breeds instability of mind and of heart and it causes us to live stagnantly, immobile, unable to move forward - captive...Jesus came to set the captive free and James 1:5 says if you ask for wisdom, God will give it to you without reproach. Not ASKING GOD? Well thats different.lol

You may have noticed by now that there are lots of people with lots of answers. So far, I believe they have done a pretty good job quoting scriptures - sharing thoughts, opinions backed by on target scripture.

My approach is perhaps a bit different but may be helpful. Real simple if you're ready?:glow:

1. You've heard/read what others have to offer

2. Now get with God. He sent His only son to die for you, me and everyone...HE loves you that much! God is not a character in a fable HE LIVES! Speaks, guides and counsels...if we fnd quiet places to listen. (I suspect you already have your answer) but perhaps need tools to walk in

obedience.

3.Where to begin? Confess to God that you are confused and ask HIM from you own private, quiet space to teach you what you do not know and to show YOU in His Word (which is his will by the way:glow:) and HE will. If you can't feel or hear HIM pray HIS Word (which IS His will by the way:glow:)

for it is ALWAYS good for EACH of us to pray HIS Word literally.

Where to begin? Many places but how about this one: Matthew 5:8 - Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.

> Asking God for a pure heart will open your heart to recieve from HIM the direction you seek.

You see Angel, there are many people and faiths that teach a priest is needed to communicate with God. But Jesus came to live in YOUR heart, if invited, so that you can have a one on one, personal relationship with HIM.

I Cor 6:9 > Your body will become the temple of God and you will begin to treat it as such...this goes far beyond the question of sexuality. You will begin to recognize that we are the only Jesus some people will ever see or know on this earth ...and that matters!

When GOD lives in our hearts our understanding of what it means to be a true christian (follower of Christ) will emerge. We begin to see that we (our bodies) are not our own to do what we will with but that we were bought with a price most precious, even the blood of our Saviour on Calvary! Hallelujah! Therefore ALL manner of sin (fornication - heterosexual or otherwise, adultery...See Galations, chpt 5 but pay close attention to verses 19-27) is at emnity against God. Darkness and light can't exist in the same place! The light dispells the darkness! Sin is sin. Mine is not better than yours and yours is not better than someone elses!

Don't simply accept second hand information...get to the rock of your salvation - the source, do your homework and study God's word to show yourself approved - a workman that need not be ashamed being involved with - doing things that you did not know forces the GOD in you to partake of uncleaness in any form or fashion. Many are like the scribes and pharisees knowing the letter of the law but forgetting the grace that calvary bought each of us! Hallelujah! God is far, far better than a natrual father to a wayward or misled child and will teach you with love and patience that surpasses any man can or would offer. Once you know (and I suspect you do) then ask HIM for the tools to break the yoke...we all have to do this in different areas perhaps, but we all need grace many times each and every day!

As I said earlier, I think you already have your answer for God has visited with you but you concerning this matter but perhaps you have not known what or how to change?

Following is a scripture that when prayed will change anyone's life if their heart is open:

I Cor 6:12 - All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

What it means: I have liberty to do what I will, but doing what I will to do is not wise or helpful in achieving the desired end result. Bear in mind the scripture is EXPLICIT about this particular issue in many places...but IMPLICIT in the nuances humans sometimes like to create around such issues.

How it works: God, I thank you that all things are lawful to me, but I know your word says that not all things are wise. Thank you Jesus that I will not be brought under the power of ANY of them! (homosexuality, smoking, drugs, lying,....the list is endless)

End of prayer, end of story except when you come back and tell us how God has not only stopped the confusion, but changed your heart and your life so that you can now help others! Amen and glory to God! Don't add anything to or take away from it...Just insert yourself in it and watch God work it out for you sis!

Be at peace and rest in HIS promises and if by chance you are left feeling something is missing? Pray this prayer:

God I am a sinner.

I believe that you died on calvary for my sins and that you rose again with all power in your hands.

Please forgive me of my sins and come into my heart. Make me new from the inside out and I will be whole!

Jesus be Lord of my life! Amen!

With love and much honor to you my dear sister,

Elise

This has always been a difficult area for me. Being heterosexual, I don't know what it is like to feel attracted towards the same sex. I don't know if people are born that way or become that way (or both?).

The Bible states that having sex with a member of the same sex is abominable to God (Leviticus 18:22) (well, it says a male-male relationship here, but I would assume a female-female relationship would be the same). I cannot recall any passages that say FEELING attracted to the same sex is wrong (it would be helpful if anyone could post such passages or confirm that there are none).

In any case, I leave the judging to God alone.

To answer your question, Spri, please check the Beatitudes out. Also for your last comment, try Matthew 18 and 1 Corinthians 5.

I've read all the passages/areas you mentioned, but I don't quite see what you're getting at. Could you elaborate please? Thank you.
